Want to try to get into this again, give me some motivation /v/. Also, want to make a melee/stealth/hacker sort of character. What would be the best way to do that, without spoiling anything major?

the only thing that matters is getting the minimum stat requirements for weapons/spells
the damage increase from str for melee attacks, and acc for ranged attacks is painfully minuscule and not noticeable at all.

Go into the options and switch the AI options from 'murder everything' to 'MGS1 guards'.
From there just learn to play the game.
