i couldn't figure out what to do after i tried to make up some claims at a duchy in 1066 ireland to start a war so I could take over the entire island

i married some french wife andd sent all my council members to do stuff but then like a couple months passed and nothing happened

This might not be the right genre for you.


That said, Ireland is one of the hardest starts for a beginner. The game isn't designed to be fair, and some starting positions can be impossible without a great deal of luck. (Any starting character can potentially become anything, but it might be 20+ times of starting over before the right circumstances occur to not get obliterated immediately)

I forgot about 1066. "Hard" isn't right. "Boring as fuck" is the appropriate term. Waiting around for forged claims or marriage shenanigans to take a single county isn't my idea of an ideal place to start.
