I'm really not sure, but in terms of tracks Julius' theme from AoS is pretty hype. Also obvious ones like Bloody Tears, Vampire Killer, etc.

Gotta agree with you senpai, even if all of those choices were fucking shit.

I too really love how Kojima treated the series and especially the 2.5 d game and the multiplayer shovelware one on xbox.

Anon, it's time to let go. It's gone.
All that's left is to hope for the best for Bloodstained and maybe some indie stuff like La Mulana 2.

I'm making a "not" Castlevania game.
Still far from any release scheduling, but we're having steady progress.
>>339240548
Working on setting up a company now, so I'm testing out logos.
(Still don't have a name for the actual game, though)
>>339240613
We're going for somewhat original monster designs, rather than the classics, but we try to keep the feeling and atmosphere as best we can.

Looks nice.
Will this game be on PC? Is it closer to classic castlevanias or more of a metroivania style?
>inb4 Pachinko meme
As much as it hurts, it's really starting to look like konami just wants to withdraw from the gaming market as a whole and focus on pachinko until the company closes one day in the future, more games might not be likely.

Is the N64 game really that bad or just a step down
Because I always liked the look of it
>>339242447
It's an okay game that suffers from the early 3D "oh god we're still trying to figure out how to make the camera work well" problems a lot of games had at the time.
>>339241446
PC, yes. Considering porting if the PC release goes well.
It's going to be a metroidvania, with alots of collectible gear and spells and stuff, but we're considering leaving levelling out, and having limited lives, along with other more "classicvania" type mechanics.
>>339242678
>having limited lives
Huh? Why would you do something like that?
I can't think of a situation where it would work nowadays, especially if it's a metroidvania.
>>339242936
>Huh? Why would you do something like that?
To make everything feel more intimidating? To make it feel like there's actual danger involved?
You can still get more lives, though.
>>339243697
And if I loose all lives, I start the whole game from the beginning or from a checkpoint that is farther back?
If it's the former then it just creates a situation where I reach a final boss with 1 life and am basically fucked. How many players will apreciate being forced to start the game from the beginning just because they fucked up one too many times? Rogue-like fans maybe.
If it's the latter then it almost defeats the point of lives in the first place. Just get rid of lives and place checkpoints further apart in general.
I'm sorry. If you think you can make it work then that's fine. But I just don't see how it can be done. I never liked the fact that old NES games had limited lives/continues. And that trend came from the arcades anyway where it was the main pillar of monetisation. So unless you going to add microtransactions that allow to buy lives (which I doubt you do), I don't see the point of bringing that mechanic back.
>>339244642
Before the last boss you're probably more than good enough to return to an easier area and farm some lives.
Well, we might drop it anyway.
>>339244915
>farm some lives
That's even worse. You get rid of level grinding by removing leveling altogether, but allow farming lives?
When I think of word metroidvania I think about exploration and permanent power-ups. Last thing i think of is grinding. The whole genre works perfectly with pick-ups that permanently increase your HP, but are placed in optional hard to reach places.
And final boss cand be hard as fuck if you want. There is no need to add the nessesity to farm lives.
>>339245229
Life farming doesn't make you stronger, and it doesn't make the game easier.
Level farming is just a way to "bypass" difficulty.
>>339245389
And waste time doing it. I'd rather have a hard game with infinite lives, so that I can concentrate on getting good instead of thinking how many lives I got left and whether I need to bactrack to grind some more.
