Fucking when?

RIP Ensemble. Fucking M$.

The fanbase only wanted to play AOE2. Their lack of support for AOE3 is what forced Ensemble to take a job making a shitty Halo RTS. Then they died soon after.

I liked AoE3, but 2 was the objectively better game, lets not pretend otherwise.
>>339222703
Also the fact that they were dumb enough to buy a brand new office while barely scraping by.

AOE3 vanilla was definitely not as good as AOE2 with expansions. But AOE3 with both expansions was the best AOE game. Asian Dynasties was that much of an improvement over its base game and fixed problems even AOE2 had.

AoM is the best you triple niggers
What thing in AoE3 is that you guys don't like? that game just gave me more of what I like.

Most common complaints I hear is they dislike the setting (1700s colonial period) and there's not enough unit variety. The first one you can't really change. But the second one is stupid since AOE3 had far more unit variety than AOE2 did. Even more with the Asian Dynasties. And unit variety was the biggest problem with AOE2, since every race was virtually the same aside from 1 unique unit and which general units/upgrades they could build.

i dont like how units have different population values. like a cannon costs 5 pop, a villiager costs 1, and a normal gun soldier costs 2. i also didnt like the limited places you could build town centers

Opening up this book just hurts, man. Like opening an old Westwood Studios CD Jewel case and seeing the 'coming next' pictures.

i play aoe3 every so often and i've never been restricted in my choice of town center location
>>339227353
wait am i thinking of aom? i thought you could only build town centers on the designated town center locations

>they dislike the setting (1700s colonial period
But that was my favorite part, back then I didn't know any other games that did that period of history

Its understandable since coming from AoE2 people was too used to the civs being so similar and in AoE3 discovering what Civ fits you playstyle better was a hard work
>>339227426ive never played aom so that's probably it

Halo Wars was decent considering it was on a fucking console, though
