Tidus' Zanarkand is actually a giant fucking aeon in the shape of a city. It does physically exist way out in the ocean. That's how Jecht got to Spira in the first place, by drifting out to sea and getting brought there by the current.
Yu Yevon was a high priest or summoner in the original Zanarkand. He created Sin out of pyreflies, like a giant fiend with him at the controls, to fight against Vegnagun in the war with Bevelle. When Zanarkand was destroyed, he turned the people of the city into Fayth to summon a copy.
So which is the best boss in the game? This guy right? Seymour was more of a pushover than I thought he'd be

I feel like FFX is underrated somehow. I think it has an interesting world, really good music, and my favorite battle system in the series.
In every other game you can switch people in and out mid-battle there's always a turn cost. Eliminating that cost here made it feel very fluid and like everyone had a place (except you Kimahri, you suck), and some strategizing could be done around the turn order vis a vis swapping in faster people over slower. Turn-based done right.

Seymour Flux was kind of stupid. I played the game normally the whole way through, didn't escape from a single battle and then his big attack instantly killed my whole party at full HP
You can beat him without grinding by casting Protect (or was it Shell? I forgot which one that worked against it) to survive that move. Alternatively you can get Rikku to use one of her mixes which casts Protect/Shell on everyone and that works too. Mighty Guard I think it was

The final seymour fight was disappointingly easy compared to seymour flux on gagazet. Seymour Flux was just brutal and easily the hardest boss in the game compared to when you fight him.

You CANNOT beat Lulu with literally anyone else in this game. She is the most well-written character (party or otherwise) in the entirety of both FFX and X-2.
