It's pretty damn fun. I rememberpiratingthe first game on the DS ages ago, and I've loved the series since.EO1's 6th stratum puts hair on your chest, I'll tell you what. Couldn't even cheat if I wanted to since I didn't have internet at the time, and mapping it was hell.
Personally, I suggest either starting with EO3 or EO2 Untold (Classic). 3's my favorite game in the series, though by now it's missing a fair bit of the quality of life improvements that the next 3 games get. EO2 Untold is probably the most polished and balanced of the series, though starting with it means going backwards is more painful.

I like dungeoning and exploring around in general, but I like to have an excuse to do it and other small stuff to distract me after I'm done with a big dungeon or exploration. Almost every team comp will run into an area that turns really difficult for them. If you're getting assraped through the entire game though you've probably fucked up somewhere building your team. You shouldn't need to "grind" if you're doing at least most of the quests when they show up.

Naturally that's the name if the game for Fencer sets. Their Chains work like Chase skills but they automatically hit first in a turn and follow up every [element] skill with Stab plus [element] attacks from allies.
The Shaman's elemental enchants however only effect basic attacks, so you can't quite turn your bunny into a flaming, whirring bunny Buzzsaw of death with their Cherry Blossom attack (which is hits to each enemy = number of katanas (4) x number of enemies + the Demon Unrivaled skill which increases the damage of Multi hit attacks by each attack in the combo.)

That's an okay team. Your Dancer is on the front line right? Chase/Trick Samba can help you abuse Link skills with your Landie. If you don't have the Dancer on the front line then your damage is probably pretty damn low. Also you may want to start leveling up a Sniper for the 2nd half of the 2nd Stratum Dungeon. I don't think you really have access to manyreliable bindswhich you'll probably want.

Not that guy, but it's really good. Just make sure to use the weapon glitch where you equip a weapon on the first slot, but equip nothing below it. It allows you to use fist skills while having the attack power of a weapon. Use etheric charge which applies a 3.0x damage boost to your breakfire fist and singularity boosts your damage against enemies with weaknesses. Fire Mastery also boosts your breakfire fist's damage by 11% when fully maxed out. A gladiator is also a good sub considering it lets you use your other fist skills with great amounts of damage from charge and berserker's vow.

My bad, if you plan to make a combat medic then anything will really work. If you choose to have a zodiac as your subclass, I'd recommend getting singularity for a significant damage boost. In general, maxing Form Qi is a lot better than leveling up your healing skills individually, but you want to unlock party heal pretty fast. Once your healing needs are met, you're gonna want to max out breakfire fist, but singularity provides a 50% damage bonus against all enemies weak to either blunt or fire so keep that in mind as well.

It's honestly a pretty shitty game, there's a shitton of bugs and balance issues (for example, you're usually better off just using one character). The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games are much better mystery dungeons and are GOAT.
Amazing soundtrack, though.

They're alright but they get tedious after a while. HP bloat is real and you never particularly feel strong until maybe the very ends of each game, and then there's post game.

You can change hair, eye, and skin color.
Outfits are uniform for the base colors (like all fencers are blue and white) with an alt color set per each portrait.
Ponytail fencer and Oswald blow the other two completely out of the water.

These games are really bad, I have no idea how they've gotten so many sequels. Probably because you can panhandle for 15 minutes outside of a Walmart and be able to fully fund a 240p 3DS game. There are far better dungeon crawl games to spend your time on.
