I have never used that as my argument, because she didn't get much exposure initially. My argument is that her design coupled together with her personality attracts an actual new playerbase due to her niche not being filled by any other character in the SF franchise.
Capcom wants SF to grow, not to remain with the same playerbase forever, and thus they have to branch out in these ways. Ingrid will obviously draw in many different players in Japan due to her cutesy attitude, and with that audience being bigger now than ever, it's a guaranteed success.
This in turn means that the second wave of DLC will inevitably have Ingrid, because the way SFV is right now they can't afford to not pull her out to get those sales.

I went last year for Guilty Gear pools. It's extremely expensive honestly, you'd be better off waiting for something more local.

Hit and miss, main stage is always well organized, but if you are going for the main stage games only you are missing out. If you do end up going, check out Vampire Savior, Accent Core, and Third Strike; I really enjoyed those side tournaments last year.

Evo is basically do or die for this game.
The influx of entrants rode the release hype but only time will tell if that translates to longevity. I've seen a lot of apathy towards tournaments and criticism about input lag especially. It doesn't mean much to pros who make money off the game, but it does detract from the game's credibility.
