From what I remember, he's actually one of the best cards at max level too. You definitely want to pair him up with Lau Ka Long for some efficient boss farming. You can kill the final dungeon boss in seconds with the right set up and an overpowered custom pistol.

I was in a similar situation, anon. I brought Yakuza 3/4 years ago and only started to properly play them last year. It's worth it. Yakuza 3/4 have catch up modes that show important cutscenes from the older games.
