The last onimusha game was a shit web browser game that tried to copy Sengoku and failed on every level.
Thanks to celebrity likenesses being used for a fair part of the series just to even remaster the games would come down to 2 things, either pay the fees to continue using likenesses which capcom is too cheap for or completely redo models and face animation which they are too lazy.
I bet you'll never guess which ex-capcom fuckhead was responsible for using celebrity faces, unnecessarily inflating the budget, and wanted to pump out so many entries in a single generation pretty much causing burnout.
