Bloodborne has an incredible story. What it lacks is a significant PLOT that holds your hand and tells you what's going on through excessive exposition. Learn the difference. There are more methods of storytelling than through dialogue and cutscenes, such as through the environment, which is unarguably the least intrusive way to tell a story. It's a video game at it's very core, where Witcher is a glorified walking simulator with mediocre gameplay, watered down RPG mechanics, a simplified alchemy system from previous iterations, and is over saturated with repetitive quests with little reward to pad out the game's length. Quests follow the same format often, using witcher senses to walk from place to place to place, and while the world is beautiful and fully realized, the core gameplay just isn't fun enough to carry it. I have read every book and played both previous games and I dropped it after 50 hours, whereas I just finished BB for the 15th time today.
