I'd go as far as to say Ysayle is one of SE's best written characters in years. She had an interesting background that shaped her character, a strong reason for being opposed to you, and her development was not rapid, rather, as she saw the results of her mistakes she changed slowly over time - and was even proven right on multiple occasions.

Completely change Nocturnal sect and allow to switch in combat.
When you're in Nocturnal sect your healing potency is reduced by X% and your damage potency is increased by X%.
In addition, new effects replace the cards current effects.
Bole: Increase the damage recieved by the target by 5%
Balance: Reduce damage dealt by the target by 5%
Arrow: Reduce physical damage dealt by the target by 10%
Ewer: Reduce magic damage dealt by the target by 10%
Spire: Reduces target's chance to critically hit by 50%

In FFXIV you are right, instead of the "number" when you press a button your character begins his animation and then you are "rewarded" with the "numbers" when the animation hits the enemy (which has more sense than giving the "hit damage" and then hitting), but the game also "knows" when you pressed that button so, even if the enemy moves away during the animation it will count as a hit.
The AOE dodging works in the same way. If you are inside the AOE mark when the cast bar of that AOE ended, even if you move 100000 feet away the game counts that as a hit. It's not good, it's not bad. It's just how the game works.
What I mean is...you shouldn't expect every MMO to be like WoW. Most of the people I played with were wowfugees and they couldn't beat Titan EX because they were dodging the AOE in the same way they would dodge them in WoW and you could hear them crying "this game is shit, this never happens in wow, etc" but they were stupid that were focusing more on the mark on the floor instead of the boss CastBar.

1. presence of mind
2. Scholar can't use its spell speed trait on top of it being unreliable.
3. mp is limitless
On an actual fight things will go to shit once you realize you can't upkeep dps and your mp as a white mage.

It's not laziness. WoW was a huge timesink because it stayed true to that hardcore mindset up through TBC. Getting to endgame WoW and clearing it wasn't piss easy; and that was fine when I was in highschool, working part time, and had a lot of time to burn.

I am giving you a solid point on White Mage MP problems during fights but you're using as a crutch that no healer is going to have MP problems in a fucking dungeon boss because its a fucking dungeon boss and proceed to ignore every other point brought up. You're also fucking delusional, in an actual 3 minutes of straight DPSing without using Shroud you will run out of MP towards the End, Shroud only lasts 15 seconds. Yes even in a dungeon boss you will reach a point where you should conserve some MP, and no I'm not saying stop DPSing but rather be mindful of how much mana you're spending.
This is more apparent on fuckhuge pulls because Holy will eat up your mana like there is no tomorrow, and the tank actually needs more constant cures on that.
But once again this is ONLY dungeons. You said "most content" as if dungeons are the only content worth doing, try DPSing in a void ark boss and tell me if you're struggling to keep MP up by the end of it.

Neither the tank nor the melee dps moved out of range half the time, the smn did. But I fucked up sometimes too. I was just losing my mind trying to keep track of all the debuffs. Also my heals were kinda shit I think, no maim and mend 2 yet.

The fundamental point of EVERY type of game is to spend time entertaining yourself.
The MMO genre is specialized towards games that never end, in the truest sense of the phrase. They're designed to be high time investment games that can only be truly completed through cooperative play.
If you're not doing that challenging cooperative play, then you're not actually completing the game. There's really no point in playing an MMO if you're not going to do that content. There's plenty of other genres where your pace is the only pace that matters; MMOs aren't one of those genres.
