Bastion is that character that's completely useless in any real competitive setting since he's so easy to counter, but he's extremely strong in pub games because people (like OP) are fucking retarded.

Well you stated the hanzo ult as a counter, and I figured an attacking team probably wouldn't take two snipers in it's comp. The attacking WM is going to have a harder time fishing for picks like was stated before, the defending widowmaker has a lot less threats to worry about unless she gets flanked, which is probably the best way to take down the this set-up with genji like you said. Junkrat would definitely be the counter to rein in this situation, pharah is easy to spot in the air and can't bounce off of walls mean she has to expose herself and will probably get gunned down fairly quickly. If the attackers can co-ordinate and take down the widowmaker, Reinhardt's shield and pick off the mercy, hanzo ult would clear point and allow for push. The problem is the likelihood of that happening outside of pre-made's practically nil. They could probably bust out a push without the ult as long as they can remove the widow and mercy, it's just going to be a bit more difficult.

not really, he can jump in and get three-four kills in a row even without ult if it's at the right time with good headshots. He can go one-on-one on a roadhog. Even tracer can't kill that fast and will probably be oneshot by it anyway.
Reaper has 250hp and heals 50hp each kill so he can survive for a long time in enemy groups if he does well.

I want to believe you're having a giggle, but in the screenshot you replied to, based on their positioning, the best solution would be to have two damage dealers flank from the sides; the stairs via balcony above and left, and the vestibule out the hallway to the right.
With this approach, and not just plowing down the highly exposed straight hallway directly in front of them, your attacked from the upper area can descend in their blind spot and hit the blue weak point on the back of Bastion. If this does not kill him before they notice you, both will turn to adjust and the other attacker from the vestibule is free to finish off Bastion (he only takes 3 weak point shots tops to die) or headshot Reinhardt while he's exposed from turning his shield.
Either of these scenarios results in one or both of them dead, worst case scenario scrambling to reposition and easy targets.

I agree that strat isn't unbeatable, it is most certainly doable, but most randos aren't going to know how to get around it and get beaten pretty easily. I would argue Hanzo's ult is much better for scattering their team, since D.va's is way too easily avoided and can be entirely negated by just standing behind Reinhardt, which is easy to do thanks to how many notifications you get about where the bomb is. Plus D.va can't capitalize on it very well, if at all. I would take a Roadhog instead of her, he could chew up any leftovers from hanzo's ult with his own, or hook an important target beforehand further adding to the chaos and breaking up the defense for the push. But yeah, tl;dr it's not unbeatable, just takes some teamwork. I'm just gonna drop it since I don't particularly care about it that much.

I actually play a lot of Junkrat and don't have much trouble if I can get within range.
I've also found that if I can get the jump on him with Rein, he's not too bad.
On defence, I've also managed to ambush him on his way to the point with Soldier.
A lone Bastion is fine. A Bastion sitting far away pointing at a chokepoint is a concern. A Bastion defending a chokepoint with his team riding his dick is horrible,and yes, requires coordination you won't find in a pub.
