I never understood people that picked this over the MP40 or Thompson in COD. It looks weird and the bullet exhaust is placed in such an awkward place. Anyone here a fan of the grease rifle?
>>
>>339022981
it was mainly used by tank drivers in WW2 and being the smallest of smg's the brithish and american could offer for the military tank drivers.
they are good tho in close to medium range combat not long range tho
>>
>>339022981
but to push my point further>>339023362
it just felt good to use for me and i dont know if some other idiot think the same as me so :|
>>
>>339023362
Ah, so that's why people used them instead of the more standard assault rifles.

Not relate to the game, but I love the grease gun.
Because it's based around the bare minimum you need for a fully functioning firearm.
>>
>>339022981
>grease rifle

It's clearly a SMG. It's called the Grease gun. Not rifle.
>>
>>339022981

Well, since everyone else missed the point of this thread

>bullet exhaust

There. Are you happy OP?
>>
>>339025850
if you really want to get to the nitty gritty "grease gun" is just a nickname troops gave it, it's the "Submachine Gun, Cal. .45, M3" and "M3a1"
>>
>>339023457
>>339022981

I know what you're doing bro, but I gotta say honestly its a little overdone at this point
>>
>>339026541
Differentiating between the nickname it had and its given name M3A1 is pointless. Both names refer to same thing.

Calling it a rifle however.. It's like saying "What do you think about this Honda Civic. It's an airplane"
>>
>>339022981
The only advantage over the Thompson was the slightly larger clip with two more cartridges.
>>
>>339027360
>clip

Leave it to /v/

>>339022981
>the bullet exhaust is placed in such an awkward place

First of all,
>bullet exhaust

Second, the ejection port is on the right, above the magazine. What you're referring to as an "awkward place" is just the dust cover hanging open to the left.

My only gripe about the grease gun is that early models had you stick your finger in a hole in the bolt to charge the weapon. Doesn't sound too safe.

they had to do that because of risk of sand getting in the gun mechanism. since this was mainly used in the desert by the british tank drivers (no cod so far shown properly)
>>
>>339022981
What I find weird is how few WWII games bother to include this weapon, even ones set in '44-45 on the Western front.

Also >>339023362 I think paratroopers carried it too, for the same reason as tankers.
>>
How the fuck do you even use that aiming bar?
>>
>>339030965
they did because it was a good counter to the mp40 close range wise and in villages a big rifle was just in the way
>>
>>339030965
I think also the "Greaser Gun" could use same ammunition as the mp40?
not quite sure but there was some other thread on /his/ discussing this a while back.
>>
>>339030965
ignore >>339031725
it uses 45cal rounds like the M1911
>>
>>339031796
You're not wrong since there were 9mm prototypes of the M3, but they never entered mass production
>>
>>339022981
1st of all.
>32 bullets
Second.
>it was very easy to take moving targets while you were also moving when you cant into kar98 master race.
>>
>>339022981
I liked it in Fallout 2
>>
>>339022981
Relaxed and managable recoil. It made is much easier to aim for longer ranges while remaining full auto. It was one of my favs.
>>
>>339022981
I actually looked this gun up because I was curious

apparently is was prone to dumping it's mag on a slight knock, so soldiers would load and cock it then throw it into a room causing it to bounce around firing
>>
>>339032380
he's thinking of the STEN. lots of folks in this thread like >>339030482 are making the same mistake.
