Also, Reaper is actually very good. Can literally *teleport behind you* to pick off camping turrets (a big part of pushing objectives), and his ult clears chokepoints combined with the aforementioned teleporting. He also disengages very easily with an ability that makes him invincible while moving. Overall, a decent solo-play character that still contributes to the team through assassinating annoying targets others can't reach.

Tips on how not to be "another Reaper":
- Actually use teleport to reach ambush points rather than doing it just to look cool.
- Play as Solid Snake and not Duke Nukem. Reaper is squishy outside of his wraith form; assassinate and YOLO out quick.
- Prioritize picking off healers and snipers, doing so actually helps your team vs killing other random attackers.
- Don't try to fucking be a hero with your ult. You are still vulnerable during it. Teleporting into the middle of enemies while they can see you, and mashing Q will get you insta-gibbed. Instead, sneak up from behind, start your ult, and move into the enemy squishies. Or bait enemies into tight spaces and start it just as they turn the corner. Just like McCree's ult, a single kill is better than no kill, especially if it's an annoying target.

Each character is relatively easy to pick up but they are all hard to master.
Junkrat by far I have the most overall fun so far though. Followed by Pharrah and Lucio.
It's pretty enjoyable for a casual pick up and play game that you don't take seriously. Probably going to be the best new FPS game this year. But Blizzard is out of their minds if they think this will ever be a competitive game.

Every hero has just one type of gameplay , you can' learn new things , the game is just about counters. Not that every heroe its viable on its own.
I know the game was design to be like that , fun at first but then get stale quick because at the end is just change heroes for the moment , and those heroes are limited by their gameplay design.

TF2 had a great deal of flexibility and strategy because every class has multiple weapons and can do different jobs. There was a core you needed, an engie, a medic or two, a heavy, a demo and a soldier. But other than that you could be flexible in team comp. In Overwatch you are forced to pick the counter class with zero thought. Just memorize the counter class and switch to it when you die. That's it.

Wtf is this hard counter shit? There are no characters that I would considered hard counters to anything. I can play Bastion and kill anyone, sure Genji may give me more trouble but I can kill him for sure. I can be zenyatta and still do well even if they have a hanzo sniping at me and I can kill him as well. There are counter picks sure. But what's more important than that is realizing what is missing from your team and implementing it. Just because there's a pharah on the other team doesn't mean you can't play torbjorn. Certain heroes are good for certain things, but I feel like everyone can pretty much kill everyone. Not to mention TF2 used to have more strategy but with all the updates now every class is just a blurred amalgamation of wacky weapons that are good at whatever the fuck, roles aren't even that important anymore.

It's a team game, so even if they have one or two counters to whoever you're playing as then try and avoid them, do your job best you can, and let your team handle your counters while you handle theirs. You can still kill your counters, but it's likely they'll win a 1v1.
Just finished playing this for the first time on my buddy's new rig.
The graphics, art style and waifus are top notch.
Gunplay is really underwhelming and floaty.
Skills or abilities or whatever are fun and can really change the tempo of a gunfight if used properly and with good timing.
Honestly not enough meat in this game content wise. Modes, maps, skills and heroes aren't enough.

I think the logic behind this is that with a Multiplayer only game you are bound by how many players that are on. So if a couple years from now you get the urge to play a couple of games you can't because no one is playing it anymore.

I regularly play as all the characters and have had unusual team comps win games, like 2 torbs for a capture map.
The only time "hard counter" ever applies is if you, say, try to 1v1 as widow in close-range combat.
What matters more is teamwork. It's a TEAM GAME. Half of playing your character effectively is syncing up with your teammates and supporting them.
Don't waste your ults or rush in without teammates.
Stick together and combo abilities and attacks.
You don't counter characters; you counter situations that are blocking your team from advancing, and that can be either switching to a new hero OR just playing in a different way.

The characters are unique. Not a single one has the same moves and all play a specific role.
A missed opportunity would be a single player with all these unique characters. I don't want to read shit online in order to get a background story. But 21 characters out the gate is great.
Needs more variety in maps and game modes. All the game modes petty much just consist of standing your ground and capturing. Gets stale.
All dlc is free. This is great since the micro transactions only consist of cosmetics that you can just unlock anyway it's not a pay2win.
I wouldnt pay anymore than $30 for this game in its current state. Not enough content but a fine time killer with friends.

it's not that easy. Most of the ults are easy to fuck up and make you a huge target for the enemy team. Half of them can be interupted by enemy attacks (one of my favourite moments was hooking a Pharah about to barrage our team and cockblocking her)

"Q to win" used to be the complaint when people first started playing it, but after a while you learn that ults, like any other ability or approach, can be shut down just as easily as they can wipe an enemy team. It depends heavily on positioning and everyone's awareness, and if you're combing with other peoples' abilities.
If your complaint is that a well-used ult can wipe a team or turn a match, that's fine to not like it because that's simply how the game is designed.
The current "weekly brawl" really exemplifies this because it has 200% health and 150% ability recharge rate as well as some ability recharge increase, meaning it's a fucking mess of people needing to use abilities in combination to hurt each other.

Open Beta was better. People switched heroes often and seemed to naturally coordinate more.
I've had three games so far in 7 hours of playtime where people are shitflinging about who's better and got more kills or doesn't suck dick or whatever. Fucking stupid that in a TEAM game, people are obsessed with stroking their e-peen.
Teams that lose tend to have half their players leave post-match.
Also, people need to play as more heroes. Most of the time I see people having 80% of their playtime on only one hero. Playing as all of them lets you learn the strengths and weaknesses of each character, so you can better counter the enemy ones and support your teammates.
BUT I've had many other games where people support each other well. If you take the first steps towards communicating, like voice chat, other people tend to follow suit.
Everyone also appreciates support classes. You get "Epic" at the post-match screen for 5 commendations, and back in beta I got "Legendary" as Mercy with 10.

Writing is shit and predictable. Only short with any sense of grandeur and interest is Recall. Dragons works for the action, But is shit story telling along with Alive and Hero.
Comicwise, Only Pharah's felt bleh. But all of it pales in comparison to TF2's sillyness and animations in both Fan and Official stuff.
