Bastion can fuck up Widowmakers when there are multiple approach avenues because turret mode still does ridiculous damage at long range. All a Bastion has to do is locate the Widow, confirm that she's not paying attention to him for an instant (firing her sniper is very loud), jump transform around a corner, and destroy her with hitscan turret. If She's not pre-aiming, then Bastion will win a trade with her even at great distance.
It's dangerous, but it can be done. If it's an actual choke though like Anubis first point then no way.

Went up against a 4 Winston/Torb/Bastion team on Route 66 in Brawl. We couldn't keep them all down, it was fucking insane. 100% shield uptime on the Payload and Winstons rocking around 1khp.

Christ Metzen tried to do a comic in the early days with a simmilar character, essentially grimdark batman and it didn't work out in the end.
Now since they have this game where most of the characters are just scrapped ideas from previous works he threw him in and changed him up to fit the game's backstory
