Depends on your situation. If you don't already own a PC/laptop capable of some gaming then the Xbone is perfectly fine and gives you access to tons of games at a very reasonable price.
The Wii U is niche as fuck and only there if you want it's exclusives which are few and far between even for a Nintendo console. The Wii U is far, far worse than the Gamecube. It's the worst console they've released so far other than shit like the Virtual Boy.
That being said you should go for a PS4 over an Xbone anyway unless you just love Halo that much.
That or just build a cheap-ass budget PC and get the most exclusives ever and play multiplats better than the PS4 or Xbone, you know, if you're smart.

There is no waiting game. It had a year of life and promptly died off afterwards. However, it did have a handful of real gems. W101 is one of those games that's going to be a nostalgic classic for a lot of people. 3D World, Mario Kart, and Smash keep 4 player couch co-op alive for a little longer. Tropical Freeze is one of the best high-profile 2D platformers.
Maybe I'm jaded, but I don't give a fuck about multiplats from Activision, Ubisoft, or EA this generation. I can't see any of the annual sequeld to anything generating fond childhood memories.

No matter how much you say this, it just isn't true. Most of the Vita's best games are now on the PS4 and PC and its upcoming releases are multiplats with superior versions on the PS4. It is by no means one of the best current platforms. The 3DS and PS4 are the only things decent to come from this generation.
