I bought the thing for a couple games. Played Ys (which was pretty great), got PDf and F2nd, played a ton of TxK, played Freedom Wars every day until I ran out of stuff to do in it.
had a PS+ subscription for a few months (that I stopped renewing when my PS3 died and I couldn't be arsed to get a new one), played through most of Wipeout 2048 and beat Gravity Rush

I just don't like when the hardware lacks the backing of its creator. The Wii U is pretty much only supported by Nintendo at this point, and I'd have rather gotten that had it actually dropped in price and not sit at 250$ for a used one these last two years.
It's why I went with the xbone over the ps4 this gen. I really want a ps4 later on but with what happened to the vita I just don't feel like it's a secure platform.

A lot of those are on PC and PS4. Don't get me wrong; its a much cheaper alternative to own a Vita to play these than the others if you don't have a game system period, but if you're sole interest is to own the highest quality versions of these games that list is much, MUCH smaller than you're letting on.

I tried Curtain Call (The remixed version]. Hell no, it was a simple, shit rhythm game with music I already listened to across Final Fantasy games without the supporting moments. It was really below average and non-interactive.
Link Between Worlds was extremely average. I actually bought that one. Looked like shit, dungeons were easy, and was a lesser Link to the Past. Had so many easy aspects. The only good idea was letting me explore the overworld with everything, otherwise everything was horribly designed and basic. I'm glad I can firerod fucking everything to death too.

In some regards I agree. Lots of RPGs, and I mean a lot of them. Nothing wrong with that, but with every cursed game list I see posted on here its nothing but RPGs and occasionally a visual novel. Not to mention Sony basically stopped adding features to the system software.

I'll be frank, I said that mostly because I've been overall satisfied with my 3DS, even with its launch woes. Physical backwards compatibility is one of the features I prefer over the PS Vita, which understandably ditched the murderous UMD.
I stick to my handhelds almost all the time infact, that's where 90% of my game time is dedicated towards. Nothing interesting to me on both home consoles at the moment and the games I want aren't due for another 6 months-2 years.
Ain't a fan of PSNs security measures, either. Still crossing my fingers for 2FA on the PS3/4/Vita, plus some additional system software changes on the PS4. The Xbox One is getting emulators and torrent clients this summer, and I'd love that on the PS4.

If there ever one game that really made a system for me, it would be Soul Sacrifice Delta. I love the VIta, have tons of games for it and everything, but man, Delta is fucking incredible. Probably my most favorite handheld game of all time, and has the most amazing presentation for a handheld game.
It has some flaws, sure, and can improve, but its honestly perfect for handheld gaming.

Fair enough, and I understand the disappointment not getting the sequel. But it didn't exactly do well on Vita. GR did switch development from PS3 to Vita and had frame rate issues, plus the controls were somewhat cumbersome. I just think it has more potential to better game on PS4.
While I am disappointed, I'm just glad I can play the sequel.

Pretty much this, since the Vita was touted as being heavy on digital games, but the memory cards were nowhere near the price and sizes to facilitate it.
In one sense, it fights piracy due to proprietary hardware, but in another sense, it is all about the control people are willing to give to Sony. Constantly having to delete games and hop on PSN to redownload them, while being bombarded with ads and sales.

This is one thing that bothered me for a long while, but the difference isn't that bad anyway for most things. If I could enjoy DQ VIII on the 3DS, I can enjoy Vanillaware games on the Vita.
Amusingly enough, I was fully prepared to get Gravity Rush for the Vita, but then I found out that the PS4 version comes with all of the DLC and it's just a few bucks more than the game plus the DLC anyway. There's also the fact that I use a Japanese account and it's about 30 dollars for the main game alone as opposed to the 13ish dollars it is on the American PSN, which I can't use because Sony went full Jew with the Vita.
