It's 2/3 of the price of a new game. It was advertised as a pretty, casual team shooter, and so far that's what we got. There are worse things people on this board have paid even more than 40 dollars for.

On console, you have to change the region of your whole console just to change the language for Overwatch. If you have friends/family you have to keep changing your region back for them. This is retarded. I thought PC devs were better than this.

This is the new age of 'gamer'. Underage and driven to only play games with skinner box designs, they'll get bored of core gameplay after only a couple hours unless they're showed with unlocks, progression and rewards as they play.
Closed beta didn't have any progression for a long time, but Blizzard decided to add in the progression system you see in the game now because they knew the majority of their audience needs a skinner box in order to continue playing.
Back in our day, we had fun with the core gameplay and the progression was getting better at the game. Of course, you actually have to put effort into that, which these neo gamers absolutely hate.

The fact it actually costs them extra money to make Console copies, they can't even just generate a digital key for a Console copy, it has to actually be cleared by Microsoft/Sony and they charge a fee for every one, key or disc, to the game developer/Publisher.
On PC, you can print as many keys as you want for 0 cost, and make physical PC copies at no extra charge.
The extra $20 is to cover the "you sold your soul to a Console" tax.

On a console you have to pay royalties to the console owner and for publishing your game and listing it and advertising it in their shitty shops.
On PC, on your own distribution platform - you don't pay royalties to anybody.
So really - your console game is more expensive - because you were stupid and bought a console.
Same with Steam versions of games, steam takes a 30% cut, so bigger players just offload that 30% onto you.

I'm already tired of the very tiny amount of character lines. They feel so generic tied in with the surface level of the character. "Hurrr im so edgy hurr death ahahahahah," "lol im a gaymer," "wan shat wan keeel." Visually interesting designs but as characters they are nothing more than stereo typical cardboard cutouts of their basic personality.
Mobility heroes are fun though. I've found it is fun to abuse the cooldown reset of Winston's ultimate so you can leap twice on activation and at the end. God knows his damage output is so shit he needs something to make him fun. No idea why they didn't give him some sort of alt fire.

While the skill ceiling is lower than other competitive shooters, being a Quake twitch shooter allows you to be pounding out headshots across the map with McCree, and this can shut down whole teams. Mechanically DB is different and you cannot take the whole roster into a match with you - only 3 mercs at once, so unlocking everything straight away will never be needed, and unlocking through credits is nothing that harsh.
Its not an amazing game by any means but it does have a far higher skill ceiling than OW, does atleast have its gimp server browser (btw community hosted servers is what that game also needs).
Nobody talked about mmos, and most of those are as much of a moba as OW is.
