Since it's post-SEGA acquisition CA we're talking about it means that to get the game will all the features and stuff we'll have to wait for the latest add-on, just how you had to wait for Attila to get a working Rome 2 or for Napoleon to get a working Empire.
The only game they shipped in "completely playable" condition after the SEGA acquisition was Shogun 2.

It was absolutely shit on launch day and took something like 18 patches to come close to fixing. Turn times increased exponentially, you had to wait hours to actually do anything and in half the battles the enemy just stood there and did nothing. Also compare the game graphics to the marketing material, combined with the trademark shite AI CA always pump out and it made for one huge disappointment. Not to mention when they released Attila, which was basically what everyone expected from Rome 2, as a separate game for £40 more.

Depends what you want. Graphics wise, I think Attila is a bit better, and there are more game mechanics in it(Warhammer is let's say a bit dumb down. For example economy or climate change, which are very important in Attila, are not that important in Warhammer. Not that Attial has some CIv shit going on, but still it's far more deeper than Warhammer.) , also a lot more factions(but lot's of the are basically the same bar the different name) in Attila(only 4 so far in Warhammer). Character building and progression is a lot better in Warhammer tho and you have tons of options how you will lvl up your legendary lord.
It also comes down to the fact what you prefer. Do you like fantasy or history? The best thing about Attila for me was the time period. Everything is falling apart there is death everywhere and you must do anything to survive. Western Rome campaign is imo one of the hardest campaigns in any RTS of all time.
Warhammer runs better tho, so if you don't have a really beefy comp don't expect much from Attila.

I do have to admit, the lack of animation for hero vs hero is kinda lame (which is weird considering that they implemented this shit on all of their previous games with one and one battles with regular units but decided to cut it out for heroes of all things).
They should have done some shit similar to Mark or Chaos, which is exactly how it's done of the tabletop. If your hero is in the general vicinity of your another hero, you can challenge them to a duel of the death where one of you has to die, or you can refuse the duel and lose moral bonus to the military unit attached to your hero.

I need some advice. I started as the dwarves, after the intro fights I'm free to do whatever and I see everything around me is owned by orcs and goblins, so I build up a cheap army and rush down to fuck them up.
Meanwhile the AI makes huge armies with really good units and I can't even make my economy work. If I capture something to make more money, I have to stay in it or go forward because you can't make garrisoned units. I make 144 gold per turn and can't defend my first three cities properly because if I move away, the shit I just left gets besieged.
How the fuck am I supposed to do anything when you can't build troops to protect a city without a lord attached?

People say it's much better optimized+ You should run it, because they actually "dumb it down" a bit compared to Attila. A lot less animations and things like that. ADHD kids think the game is frozen and terminate the process, causing it to crash.
They do this over and over again.
There have been reports of people thinking the game is frozen when in reality its shitty Windows asking them, in a different window, if the program is considered safe or not by the user. But since you are in full screen you won't realize of that. So people assume the game doesn't run when they are just retarted.
I don't know if there are actual real issues with the game that aren't linked in some way to user's stupidity. Some of the reviews are just mad chinks because there is no chink language.
