You get a loot box every time you level up. It takes about an hour or two of playing to gain a level. Far as I could tell, the curve of EXP doesn't increase after 20. It's still good.

True, but they've introduced it for the randomization factor. They cannot sell crates unless the mechanic of getting new content is random. If they've wanted to add non-cosmetic shit to the progression system they would have done it from the beginning. Doing this after the launch breaks the leveling system. It's in all their games, Battlefield 4, Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age Inquisition.

Leveling doesn't take that long, even at high levels, due to experience cap.
When you get a dupe, they give you in-game currency instead, so you can but the items you want anyway.
In the beta time alone, I had both the main skins that I wanted, and tons of extras and emotes.
I guarantee that by the end of the first week I'll have all of them again.
Plus, by the time the first new hero gets announced I'll probably have enough to buy all of their skins, too.

Because they ask full price for average quality games that had almost no content at launch, then ask for tons of DLC ontop of that. Actually, that's Armored Core: Verdict Day. V had the big issues and framerate problems and awkward online, Verdict Day fixed that quite nicely. It still only runs at 30 FPS, which is sad, but salvageable by still being a good game. It doesn't rely on redditors or memesters or bronies to stay alive.
