Dwarfs as my first solo campaign. Mortar and gyrocoptering greenskins seems like a lot of fun.
Then cheesing as the Vamp Counts in a co-op.
Interested to get my hands on Chaos since they're still locked from review copies, and I'm looking forward to what they plan to do with Bretonnia.
All in all, CA has gotten back in my good graces after the pile that was Rome 2 with Isolation and what I've seen so far from streams.

Attila is specifically meant to be hard, so there is a reason for that. Though a lot of that has to do with the economy and stuff like fertility hampering you. And insurmountable end boss doom stacks.
I really wish Total War didn't go the way of too many DLC. I'm planning on waiting a few months to see what the DLC and sale situation is since Overwatch comes out the same week.

Campaign AI is best it's ever been, going by the streams.
Battle AI is about on par with Attila - so it's fairly competent if nothing special. It does seem to use magic really well though.
Siege AI looks better, but that's mostly because they simplified the system.
It's probably the best it's ever been, overall. It won't be perfect and will fuck up on occasion, but it looks fairly solid. I try to realistic about it. TW AI is still some of the best out there despite all the shit people give CA.

Uh, yes they do? Space Marines especially fight in line formation. HH Books talk constantly about the intricately planned formation movements of the Emperor's Children. Melee clashes between large squads of units which happen in TW engines are EXACTLY what happens in the fluff. 40k is all about unit based combat. Total War happens to do unit based combat very well.
