i like my xbone and controller, but that textured surface on the sticks began wearing off after maybe 2 months, and now the corners of the right stick where i use it is completely smooth and the left side is almost completely smooth.
textured surface felt great in the beginning though, but at least the entire rubber hasnt worn off down to the plastic like what happened with all of my 360 controllers

Xbone controllers suffer from a lot of quality issues. Most of it is small stuff but you'll never find an Xbone controller in perfect condition. Common issues are triggers that click or stick, screws not being screwed in (or at an angle so they're basically impossible to remove) or completely stripped. The springs on the sticks have short lifespans and the micro-USB ports are some of the shittiest you'll ever find and highly prone to wear and tear to the point they will stop working.
The controller looks and feels fine, but the more you use it, the more you'll realize it's a piece of shit.

I haven't had these issues with the control sticks on an xbone pad, but then again I play a number of games that use the dpad instead which is what I got the thing for in the first place.
The micro usb port is shit however, but that's more of an issue with micro usb itself and microsoft deciding to use use a port in which the part that jacks into it is a flimsy metal nub.
It was created for cellphones since they're so damn small and so the ports also need to be small, using this on a controller is just stupid.

Micro-USB is the worst connector ever. I've never pulled the cable out of my DS4, yet it's now so loose that touching the cable disconnects the DS4 when using it with my PC. I had to use a bunch of rubber bands to stabilize it in place so it would actually be usable. Don't know why companies keep falling for that meme, my phone charger also ended up like that.

The Sony products have been pretty bad in regards to this. The first models of anything they've done kind of tends to break.
