Thoughts and theories?
>>338494750
He tried to hard and now there's no subtlety. Animatronics aren't supposedto be designed with the intention of being creepy, so there's no way these got any use.
Once more, the same as before. Same dead horse in a bright new color.
Why is this franchise still relevant?
He's trying to ride the autism train of FNAF until he can't make money off of it anymore. Nothing else to it, really.

>>338495641
I see where your coming from, but why would I buy the game 6 times.
>>338495889
Why not just buy one of them? Each one, although connects the lore, has a pretty closed up story.
Plus, each game is like 4 hours long. People keep clammoring for more. Especially when each new game has a different kind of gimmick
DID SOMEONE SAID THEORY!?!?!
>>338495840
But in the end
>>338495889
It was really interesting at the time the games came out to find out new hidden things and meaning behind the games. I allways bought the games upon release so spending some time in various places discussing what means what was actually a really great time to me
Not many games do that nowadays
Besides when it comes to the horror element it does a great job so being a fan of the genre as much as i am i really enjoyed playing through this games. Before FNAF there were only walking simulators with jumpscares at the end everywhere in the indie scene so this one kinda stood out for being more than that

Because it makes money. These cashgrabs are putting food on Scott's table and he knows he couldn't do anything besides FNAF.
>>338494750
What the hell is the point of the animatronics' faces opening up?
Both spoopy wise and design wise. That doesn't seem to make sense for either.

>>338494750
the first one was kind of creepy because of the rough artstyle. Springtrap was more or less creepy too.
Everything between and since comes off as a christian man making kid game art. Honestly, Scott should just sell the franchise to a publisher who will do things with the series he can't because his pastor cautions him not to.
>>338501302
He should pitch these ideas to Suda or Kojima
>>338501302

>Implying i watch these games in Youtube
And you are the reason why the games are popular in the first place, any publicity is good publicity and people like you shitting on the game because e-celebs overreact to it only helps to make it more popular than it diserves
I play the fucking games because for $10, they are good horror expieriences. I bet you never touched a single game in the series and only watched a playthrough face-cam shitfest on Youtube
Not a huge fan of the main clowns design
Freddy, foxy, and especially the ballerina all look great though
>>338494750
I dont really give a shit about this game, but his animations have improved.
Looks good. I wonder why they are underground.
>>338495119
Finally, someone else says it.
I think part of what made the original FNAF so popular in the first place was the fact that the animatronics looked just like what you'd expect from Chuck E. Cheese's, where they're supposed to be cute and kid-friendly but just come off as unintentionally creepy.
Scott keeps trying to up the horror factor which leads to a shitload of animatronics that would never be used to entertain children. It completely removes the nostalgia factor of remembering being scared by Chuck E. as a kid.
>>338504298

There was a ride in some european amusement park that took you way far underground. It showed you a little horror show featuring some alien egg or something and then when it was over it brought you back up.
That was what I assumed this games show was supposed to be like.

Pretty much.
After the originals became broken and decayed in FNAF 2, he should've stopped. These are just plain fancy robots now, not animatronics. No restaurant would put THIS MUCH fucking money into a kids' stageshow.
>>338506279
The pic here sums it up.
I can't hate Scott. He found a method that works to get money out of dumb people with almost zero effort on his part and now he's filthy fucking rich. Dude knows how to game the system.

FNAF 4 is a kid's fever dream, of fucking course everything is going to look exaggerated
Didn't /v/ really like the first one? I guess that was before the series became a huge success and popular among "normalfags." Then you retards turned on it just like you did with Minecraft.
>>338506738
You mean Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion, right?
>>338506521
i played games 1-3 and that pic pretty much sums it up
i get that the creator wanted to make "terror" versions of the animatronics on part 4 look like a nightmare to a kid but the thing is, as someone who was scared of mascots and shit when i was a kid, I never had nightmares where they had sharp shit all over them. They were scary enough as they were.
>>338506837
Trying to justify it looking stupid with a lame excuse doesn't make it not stupid
>>338506850
the first one was good then the game garnered an insufferable autistic fanbase (read: not normalfags) and the creator drove the series into the ground.
>>338494750
I can't wait for Markiplier to play it.
>>338507019
>creator drove the series into the ground
And he made millions doing it. I can't say I blame him.
>>338506474
but most of the points are still relevant
The designs of the new ones are designed to intimidate, there's no sense of realism to the animatronics, therefore they aren't scary, everything about the designs scream "HOLLYWOOD", and the novelty is gone, the dead horse is all bones, yet he still beats it.
>>338506521
Even with the contenxt, the designs are not scary. Yes, it is the perspective of a child, their minds will warp the designs to be much scarier than how they actually are, however, we, the people playing the game, are not children, therefore, the relation is lost, and they end up looking dumd and not as scary.
>>338507103
you can make millions off of a game without driving it into the ground by appealing to the lowest common denominator every single time.
>>338507113
>THE CREATOR SHOULD HAVE DONE IT LIKE THIS! WAAAH
I don't even play any of the games and you are sounding like a fuckwit. Honestly, the guy is probably creatively bankrupt at this point. 2 was the last game where he could keep doing the uncanny valley shit with the animatronics without it getting stale. 3 and 4 were just natural progression in order to keep milking the franchise and getting more money, which I honestly can't even blame him for since the fanbase eats whatever he puts out regardless.
>>338506350
A dude can change his mind. He said that he did since people were pleading for more.
>>338506279
4 was the most scary though
>>338507113
>The designs of the new ones are designed to intimidate
Shifting face plates allows for a crude way to make complex facial expressions, like a lifted eyebrow or a corner of a mouth. I can't find a real example of this because search results are clogged with FNAF shit, but I'm sure it's been done.
$100 on august 2 years aniversity release date, 6 games in 2 years.
>>338507313
>lowest common denominator
You mean the largest and most malleable part of the audience? Clearly, you know nothing about selling things.
>>338507113
>The designs of the new ones are designed to intimidate
Gonna have to disagree. The new designs give me a huge "supposed to be kid friendly, but the designers were horribly misguided vibe. Both Foxy and Freddy look absolutely fine and child friendly. Its the two new designs that are actually creepy before the faces start to move

Main reason Scott keeps making more games.
At least Scott gave us a free, playable shitpost in the form of FNaFWorld's Update 2.
>FNAF games have 3-4 month period between each game
So is it safe to assume this one will come out next week or early next month?
>>338497657
But nothing's the same
>>338507734
I didn't ask why people don't like the game. I simply stated that I can't blame Scott for selling out with his overly simple, yet extremely successful franchise.
I liked the first two games, but I am certainly no fan of what the series became. I will say this new game looks a lot more promising than the last two.

>>338494750
>don't hold it against us
>you don't know what we've been through
I'll admit, that voice is creppy as fuck. That will be the clown girls voice, right?
I'm not aware of fnaf lore, but I'm pretty sure none of the anamtronics were self-aware (right?) So the thought of these ones being conscious is kinda cool. I hope they'll all have VA.
As for location, we start off in an elevator for sure, then were moving around a vent, and a control panel room. This would imply that we can move around, or that we can at least use the vents to get around. Their will probably be small anamtroimcs that also use the vents, that will force you to consider timing/what route to take. Mark my words that will happen.
As for story, I have two ideas
1. Some cult like shit is going down and your the sacrifice. But babe is awear of all the horrible shit they do, and will be the replacement to phone guy. Giving you instructions every night on how to avoid them/her, until your set free or escape or whatever.
2. This is a big fucked up TV show, now that the world knows how you can stuff a body into a suit and it's soul will latch on to it until it gets vengeance. Your the lucky contestant! (Prisoner) who will be forced to survive 5 nights in the underground. If you win (no one to date has) you get a fuckton of money. However, the anamationics are just as much prisoners as you. They're existence is suffering and they'll never get revenge on the TV dude who did this to them. The phone guy is replaced with a preppy voiced TV host who slowly gets angrier at you for actually surviving. The ending screen will be a cheque for a huge some of money. The 6th night will be some sort of bonus round for the player to make even more money, but at the end it will go wrong and the anamtronics will escape and get their vengeance on the TV dude.
Thoughts on these ideas?

>>338508350

>>338507316
>THE CREATOR SHOULD HAVE DONE IT LIKE THIS! WAAAH
Just my opinion, never said he should have done it, just saying what I would have preferred
>Honestly, the guy is probably creatively bankrupt at this point
Thats kinda what I was going at with the "hollywood" style. He's keeping the games designs new and fresh, but he's appealing to the younger demographic and the modern horror film types.
>>338507370
That is true, but it would never be relevant or included in a real pizza place with animatronics. However, what was shown to us doesn't look like complex facial expressions, rather a cheap new way of scaring kids with jumpscares. The face opens to reveal the endoskeleton, not lift an eyebrow or the mouth. Thats what the original designs did right. It was simple, but uncanny, and the intention of the designs was not meant to scare children.
>>338507490
They look too static. Not only that, but there's no way a pizza parlor would allow Foxy's teeth to be that sharp.Kids can clearly tell its a weird robot from the design, rather than the "comfy and fluffy" look Chucke E Cheese went for
>>338508353
He made that game into an interactive shitpost, so I doubt it.
>>338508325
Youtubers use horror games for views and making forced memes, devs don't put any effort into it, they just make sume dumb jump scare game for Markiplier or Pewdiepie to play and make thousands of dollars on such a trash game.
This makes the genre very saturated with trash
>>338508559
>references cheap Chuck E Cheese animatronics instead of Aaron Fechter's finest works.
>>338508559
>there's no way a pizza parlor would allow Foxy's teeth to be that sharp
Now you are just nitpicking. Plus, you are forgetting that the tagline for this game is "please stay in your seats". I These animatronics clearly aren't supposed to directly interact with the people. Maybe they are on rails or hey, even are supposed to stay on the stage at all times. Unlike the other games, I don't think there is ever a situation in this game where foxy should be near a child
>>338508559
>That is true, but it would never be relevant or included in a real pizza place with animatronics.
I wouldn't be so quick to say that. I instantly thought of that function when I saw the trailer. I would not be surprised if this had been done before.
>However, what was shown to us doesn't look like complex facial expressions, rather a cheap new way of scaring kids with jumpscares.
>The face opens to reveal the endoskeleton, not lift an eyebrow or the mouth.
Watch Foxy and Freddy's animations again. The only one that was deliberately "scary" was Baby's and that was within context given the unhinged nature of the voicing and what is apparently going on.
>>338496475
It doesn't even matter
>>338508825
I have no personal experience with Aaron Fetchers work, so I went off of Chuck E Cheeses designs
Gotta admit, these are scary as fuck
>>338508717
It's a simple game, and there is plenty of effort put into it on the modeling level alone. Gameplay is different across games, they're just small games and Scott isn't concerned with sitting down and making a huge complex game. The content reflects the price. You're treating it as if it's a huge big budget game because you don't like the cancerous fanbase that attached itself to it and are assuming the developer is only making games to appeal to them when the first game brought him plenty of success.
>>338508559
Foxy had razor teeth in the first game m8, if anything these designs are a return to 1's and 2's. Scott had also never gone for the comfy and fluffy feel, all the animatronics look like they were made with plastic
>Harlequin robot
>Named Baby
>Has the general features of a Harlequin Baby
Isn't there a movie of this coming out at some point?

>>338507657
Jason X is easily the best one.
Wait, why is he releasing a new game? Wasn't the last one he put out broken beyond measure and never fixed?
>>338495889
The first two games are the best in the series. 3 and 4 exist only to appease FNAF fans desperate for a new game/more lore, and FNAF World tries to do what Desolate Hope did with a FNAF theme, so that can be skipped, unless you're a huge fan of mediocre RPG's that are victims of their creators' poor direction (like, say, FF13 or Lufia 1).
So if you can find FNAF1/2 for cheap (not hard, a lot of websites sell keys for them for pennies on the dollar), they're worth getting. Everything else you can ignore completely.

Honestly I'm looking forward to this one.
I saw the trailer and noticed how the "office" moves up and down, and how you can crawl inside vents. Something tells me the gameplay is wildly different this time, like in 4.
Plus I like the design of the new animatronics. For the most part, they look unintentionally creepy (like in 1 and 2) instead of being overdesigned crap intended to be scary (like in 3 and especially 4).
What do people think of Ballora and Minireena being two separate ballerina themed animatronics (judging from the names)?

I think Minireena might be one of the puppets/toys in the office that you see in the trailer.
If not, I hope minireena is the main animatronic we keep seeing, and Baby has actually yet to be revealed
I made the mistake of posting a negative comment, holy fuck, mistake central
>>338515292
Who the fuck is Ennard?
>>338510080
A bad game
>>338509430
So let me get this straight, it is the game's fault if any e-celeb jerkoff uploads a video of their face while the play the game?
Fuck off, what did the indie horror scene had before FNAF? They had Slenderman-based games wich consisted in nothing but a walking simulator until you got jumpscared, or they only had a jumpscare simulator
This game was the first one in a long time that had more going for than just some jumpscares, especially with the subplot it had and the RNG events that could happen
Seriously the games are perfectly fine for the price tag they have
>>338504298
>Implying ANYONE went to Chuck E. Cheese
The animatronics are scary in all games anon, they are just themed differently depending on the setting
>>338515583
Could both be ballerina themed, seeing as pig tails has a similar skirt to the ballerina?
Also just noticed; lots of pins are sticking out of her including her mic. Some kind of voodoo theme?
>>338512440
>Five Nights at Fuckboy's
Do I even want to know what that is
>>338516284
The name of that one is Baby apparently
>>338516446
According to what though??
>>338516414
It's a goofy RPG thing that makes fun of the series and uses Microsoft Sam voice overs.
One of the more memorable lines, from Freddy to Balloon Boy is "Inhale my rage dong child", as a decent expectation for what you're getting into.
>>338516414
It's some kind of RPG that can be enjoyable based on what you find humorous

Well, at the end of FNAF World (After the newest update), you meet a guy called "the Creator" wich tells you that he created something called "Baby" and that it's too late to stop her, after that the screen cuts to black and you can hear someone saying "The show will begin, please stay on your seats" then the Creator appears to be dead
That phrase that you hear was also in the teaser image in the main website along with a picture of the little animatronic in the front of >>338516284 picture
It might be a tactic to distract us and maybe we don't know who Baby truly is
>>338516610
>>338516763
That title made me think it was porn.
>>338516796
Maybe he's upped his game on the AI programming for Baby
>>338517478
What do you mean?
>>338494750
So it' s an amusement park ride and the animatronics get mad because you left your seat?
>Sister location of an establishment
>It's also a girly version of said establishment
Very clever Cawton.
>>338495119
You forget that this game is in some sort of carnival?? Trailer looks like it's in some sort of fucking bunker so I have no clue what to expect from the animatronics
>>338516284
>hand puppet Bonnie
cute
That ballerina is by far the most terrifying animatronic this series has ever had.
>>338508559
>Not only that, but there's no way a pizza parlor would allow Foxy's teeth to be that sharp.Kids can clearly tell its a weird robot from the design, rather than the "comfy and fluffy" look Chucke E Cheese went for
i don't think this game takes place in an actual restaurant. it's some sort of spooky secret base setting.
>>338494750
Can someone explain why this series gets milked so hard as it is? In the span of 2 years we got what? 5 sequels? Who enjoys this garbage?
>>338519125
100 percent agreed
>>338519125

Children, Furries and LPers.

Can you blame Scott?
He knows preteen dumbasses are eating his shit up and he's probably a millionaire from it now. I'd do the same thing.
>>338519194
I am more curious why 6-10 years old are so obsessed with this series.
Youtubers?
Seems bizzare that my 7 years old niece loses her shit over horror game about murdering animatronics.

>>338519194
E-celebs and youtubers. I'm pretty sure if the game had to rely on fans of the horror genre (Literally me), it woudn't had been this popular
Also, if you released a game that sell like hotcackes you would milk the fuck out of it too
>>338494750

>>338519416
Since LPers are surrogate friends, it's only natural the kiddies would get hooked on a series their favorite screaming retard plays.
>>338519516
I'm implying that as long as there is a demand, he has no reason to not supply
Ballerina Bot porn when?
>>338519416
The youngest don't know or just vaguely know about the story. All they care about are the YouTubers. The only reason they buy the game is to be playing the same thing as them.
>>338519852
But even so, the designs are not kid friendly at all, they are quite qrotesque.
I saw Noghtmare on Elm Street when I was 9 and I couldn't sleep for month straight.
Just visually it fucked me up.
>>338519404
All he wanted was to spread the love of Jesus Christ through the medium of video games.
Then people started to insult his animation skills and said they where creepy so he became jaded and started to make creepy games instead. So no we can't blame him.
Party on, Scott.
>>338494750
Why does anyone like, let lone love, these games? I played the first one because a friend gave it to me since he knows I'm a fan of horror games.
I was bored to fucking tears. It's not scary in any definition of the word. Is anyone actually scared by these games or is it just about the fandom or something? Seriously, what is the appeal?
I found this 50c kawaii Cthulhu rougue-like I bought on steam spookier than FNANF.
The reason these games feel so creepy is because Scott only uses that creepy 90's PC point-and-click artstyle which gives off that really uncanny valley feeling for some reason.
>>338520172
I grew up terrified of 2 things. Chuck e cheese, and 90s cgi graphics.
I struggle to get through night 2 on any of the games. This has NEVER happened to me in a horror game before. Its a fear that I haven't experienced since I was a child.

>>338520651

>>338520336
Damn. Well that makes sense if it's a personal fear.
But by the very definition of horror, for something to be universally scary it should be something that disturbs the viewer because it confuses them on some level. Individual people have fears of stuff like animatronics or spiders or whatever, but when it's in your face then anyone who doesn't have that specific fear isn't going to be scared by it.
That's why the earlier Silent Hills and games like Forbidden Siren or Penumbra are so good, because most of the monsters aren't easily recognizable as anything else, so your brain is left to piece together information about what the fuck you're looking at which is what leads to that universally shared sensation of terror. Combined with having to process this information, which is screwing with your perception, you also have to act in a game, which creates even more tension since now your brain is having to deal with whatever the fuck it is you're looking at AND run away/fight/take a picture/whatever. That's how good horror games instill a sense of helplessness too.
Or, I don't know. Maybe just a cock load of people are scared of Chuck e Cheese.
>>338520172
I am scared of those games, but what i really admire is the moments before the jumpscare, the games create a really nice atmosphere that horror fans enjoy
There is two types of horror games in this world
>The games that think the jumpscare has to be the scary part
Something that would fit this description would be anything Slenderman is in, because you know the jumpscare is unavoidable
>Games that rely on the atmosphere they create
This would be the category that FNAF fits in, it's not about the jumpscare, it's about seeing that animatronic get closer and closer and thinking you have to be quick when it shows up to stop it. The jumpscare is just the game's way to tell you "You fucked up, you lost a life"
Being as huge horror fan as i am, i appreciate that something like FNAF came along when all the indie horror scene had at the time was Slenderman jumpscare simulators or random monster jumpscare simulators with unavoidable jumpscares

>as if these abominations would ever be greenlighted for use in a children's amusement place
>as if this ridiculous face moving technology isn't so ridiculously advanced that it would be super expensive and therfore negate the whole "attempt at cute characters but creepy because of cheap chinese animatronics" thing
>as if anyone would spend this much on making moving faces on robots for no reason
>as if kids would like this
>as if the creator ran out of any good ideas after the first game and isn't just robbing idiots and furries
>as if there's an actual story behind it
>>338521392
Uncanny valley and the combination of humanoid and non-human features is a pretty universal grotesque aspect. That's why so many are scared of them in the first place.
>>338510275
>the sleeping bag scene
only good part
Fun Fact: Jimmy Neutron's VA plays the main antagonist of FNAF World's Second Update.
>>338521427
It's strange because in my playing of it I really would put it into the former category but I am not a fan of jump scares at all. They do absolutely nothing to me and I'm an anxious fucker who nearly jumped out of his chair yesterday when my cat knocked over a can of seltzer.
Maybe it's desensitization from a thousand horror movies, but jump scares just make me groan. The only thing more boring than a jump scare is excessive visceral gore. I see your point though and I didn't think of the jump scare as actually being a punishment to the player, which is certainly how I feel about it. That's actually pretty brilliant then in context.
With that in mind, maybe I'll give it another go.
