When I played healer in FFXIV I usually pulled when the tank wouldn't. It's not like it's particularly hard to heal in dungeons or tanks have problems generating enough threat.

I'm afraid of doing big pulls because the healer usually doesn't know how to handle them. Especially those slow ass healers that can't keep up with the distance you run to pull shit and you're dead by the time you've got everything, or they're throwing fucking Regen on you while you're pulling and stealing all the aggro.
Frankly I only feel safe doing this on my Paladin because I can abuse Hallowed Ground.
There's a reason healers are the easiest class to play in the game and that's because 90% of healers are shit at the game.
