The new battlepass gives you access to a ranked que system that only people with the battlepass can participate in, when the pass ends if your MMR in that que is higher than your normal MMR you can swap them.
It's basically a 10 dollar buy in to filter out 90% of 3rd worlders and 12 year olds. Worth it just for the que not to mention all the cosmetics.
