For me, it is Mount and Blade Warband by a massive margin, absolutely addicted to that game.
To put it into perspective, the second game I have played the most on steam is Oblivion, with 167 hours.
I have spent 403 hours on Mount and Blade, and that's just on my current steam account. I previously used my brothers account to play and racked up 500 hours on that one.
That's over 900 hours.
I spent something like 16k hours on WoW back in the day.

Y'know I would, but all of the ones I like have some inherent flaw that makes me think twice.
>1257 is huge and packed full of content, but all of the cities look the same and the baltics still have walls of red text in battle
>Brytenwalda is packed full of content, when it isn't an incredibly slow slog
>Gekokujo is a lot of fun, but cavalry is worthless while matchlocks/archers are OP as shit
But if I had to choose it'd probably be Gekokujo.
Some of the/vg/modules are pretty good, though.

I find that my favourite changes alot, I am playing the Native Expansion atm and just really liking the additions they did to it.
I find with some mods they do too much and it ends up being shitty overall despite having good ideas, like The Reckoning mod.
I like Gekokujo as well, that is a good mix of fresh content and playability.

I played a dragonball z mod called Earth's Special Forces for several hours almost every single day somewhere between 1-2 years. I dropped it when they revamped the melee to shit.
Before anyone judges, it was extremely competitive. Like a quake3 but with DBZ.

i've been playing rome 1 since I was in high school and my comp could barely run HL2, there's so much you can do in it if you have the imagination for it pretty much the same as europa universalis
warband is one of the best historic/action games, mod scene as huge as HL1
