Can be fun if you just want to fuck around in an open world and loot shit. Has a few legitmately cool quests and locations as well. Just don't expect a good rpg, or a good Fallout game for that matter.
It's a great game. Get it and play it and never post on /v/ about it until you've had enough. All of the fallout games are huge fun. Any thread however will expose why each game is actually shit and the posters will kamikaze the thread into which one game is the best and why the rest are terrible. Guaranteed fun.
It's really, really awful. One of the worst major games of the last decade. I can't imagine why everyone went crazy for it.

Pretty much this. Bugs in Fallout 3 are actually pretty amusing too, as long as you aren't on console and can easily `tcl when stuck and backup your saves often.
It's a decent game despite not being that good of a RPG. I liked the atmosphere, exploration, and the music mostly. Story was eh.
I will always remember the moment when you first leave Vault 101 though. My first time experiencing that gave me chills desu
As a Fallout game it's abysmal. As an Elder Scrolls game with guns it's just as bad. All around shit game, by far the most disappointed I've ever been with Bethesda. It's also the buggiest Bethesda game by a large margin. I got more CTDs in FO3 than Morrowind, Oblivion, NV, Skyrim, and 4 put together, despite playing it for a substantially shorter time because it's such a god damn bad game.

Fallout 3 is actually ten times more stable when you run it in New Vegas with Tale of Two Wastelands, standalone FO3 is a fucking disaster.
FO3 was my first Fallout game, and really my first open world game with the exception of Morrowind.
I spent a ton of hours playing it, I used a bunch of mods and it helped me through some bad hangovers in college. I totally get all the hate for it, but I loved it.
Too bad my mods are all fucked up and it crashes every 30 seconds if I try and give it a run through.

Good review but it's too heavily biased towards New Vegas. On top of that, it's a review of a game that came out 8 years ago and relies alot on points that have already been discussed in the past and has points that may and definitely have been refuted before. Also, a video is good for arguments because it could help explain an argument more thoroughly but when only people who hate Fallout 3 make videos discussing the quality of Fallout games, it can kinda be ignored because most posters aren't going to argue a whole hour long video that can't really be refuted without extensive detail.

I love this game but apparently that's unpopular on the internet.
Even if it isn't written as well as other Fallout games it has some amazing set pieces and is an absolute joy to explore. It's got just the right amount of camp and genuineness to it, and while some people may hate it for being over the top at times I really liked how humorous it was willing to get.
And honestly, when you leave the vault for the first time and when the Enclave first shows up were pretty cool. So was Pleasantville or whatever it was called. The story as a whole may not be great but it has some damn cool moments. Which is sort of how the whole game is, really. And those moments are good enough for me to like the whole a lot, even if not all of that whole is good.

I loved Fallout 3's map and art design. It was the only reason I played Fallout 3 so much. As a Fallout game I think it's like a retard's misremembered shooter version of Fallout 1, but the map design and art style is the best Bethesda made since Morrowind.

Not to cause even more shitposting but I sort of see Fallout 3 as in the same boat as Ocarina of Time when it comes to pissing off older fans of the series. I like both of those games a lot but I still see how different they are from the first two in their respective series, and I understand why old fans don't like them because of that. This is probably the games I enjoyed exploration the least.
Despite no attachment to skyrim's or fo4's characters or story, I still enjoyed exploring and seeing the world once. This game was just plain ugly and half assed. I tried to like it a few times, but it is simply uglier than daggerfall, and boring as shit
it got popular because of elderscrolls+fallout hype and it was fairly unique for the time
