What is the best Spider-Man game?
>>338318242
Tie between Spiderman 2 and that one cell shaded Spiderman game with playable Venom
>>338318242
spiderman 2
/thread
Maximum Carnage
>>338318312
fpbp
Also, you're thinking of Ultimate Spider-Man
I really liked the gameplay in Web of Shadows.
>>338318312
>>338318312
Ultimate Spider-Man
Hey everyone.
>>338318242
I really wish the PC version of Spider-Man 2 wasn't different and shit.
If the console version was easily modifiable that shit could have been incredible.
spiderman 2 on xbox
runner up is seperation anxiety on genesis
>>338318596I thought he was super cute and actually a decent version of Peter Parker for once. The part where he threw the car at Bucky was probably my favourite bit.
>>338318414
mah nigga , the ost is goat too
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXKLi2PiJAg
i liked shattered dimensions a lot. pure action (and stealth) with none of that boring open world shit
>>338318939
You have a shit taste
>>338318242
Played through Spider-Man 2 recently, and it was a lot of fun. Well, except forOH NO MY BALLOON, which just got grating on the ears.
>>338318778
>and actually a decent version of Peter Parker for once
Stop letting your underage homolust get the better of you.
>>338318414
This is correct.
>>338319045
Can't be worse than Tobey and what's his name, right?
These are the best ones
>Spiderman 1 and 2 on Playstation
>Spiderman 2 on PS2
>Ultimate Spiderman
Ultimate Spiderman's my personal favourite.
>>338318242
Ultimate Spider-Man, easily.
>>338319156
I don't know, he wasn't nerdy enough to be Peter, not to mention old enough. Tobey did a fine job, even if he had terrible one liners.
>>338318923
IF YOU LISTEN TO FOOLS
>>338319260
>Ultimate Spiderman
Whats the best version, consoles or PC?
>>338321313
GC is best imo.
>>338321461
Why?
web of shadows seems to be getting some traction, but it's probably not better than Shattered Dimensions
>>338318242
Web of Fire Tbh:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2QmZdFvJZw
I'd probably have to go with Shattered Dimensions overall. Though the Spider-Man games on the PS1 are fantastic.
Since /v/ is best for non-vidya, might as well ask here. How do you smoothly get into Spider-Man?
There's so incredibly much out there under the brand, that I really don't know where to start, or what the essential works are.
Eventually if there are any good compilation works.
>>338322990
Haven't read too many of the comics, but in terms of cartoons Spectacular Spider-Man is amazing.
>>338322990
I'd recommend Ultimate Spider-Man until Pete dies.
Does Dolphin emulates Spiderman 2 well?
>>338322990
Read the original Ultimate Spider-Man with Peter, not the Miles Morales versions, unless you eventually want to.
Ultimate is a seperate continuity then the main version, but still very good and has a lot of arcs similar but different to the main one, like a clone saga.
>>338323276
>>338322990
The comics, I mean, not the godawful cartoon. It's great until he's replaced by Miles.
>>338322990
90s cartoon
>>338323193
SSM is fucking awful
>>338323515
Sure it is.
>>338323276
>>338323379
Are there any solid omnibuses of it?
>>338322990
>>338322990
Ultimate Spiderman comic series is superb.
Spectacular Spiderman animated series is really great, sadly canceled before its time but what we did get still holds up.
>>338319743
>not to mention old enough
Peter was 15 when he got his powers in canon so.... Tobey was too old.
>>338326082
Huh, always thought he was 17 and in his last year of high school, due to part-time work, all the driving done by fellow students and the fact that he looks to be in his late teens in most portrayals, but I guess times were different in the 60's.
Still, movie spidey was definitely 17, and Tobey had enough of a babyface to make it seem believable.
>>338323515
Not him but why is it awful? It has a lot going for it. Fluid animation, great voice acting, coherent plot, etc.
>>338318242
Ultimate Spider-Man is the only correct answer
>>338325459
>sadly canceled before its time
Damn. What is it most Marvel animations barely lasting more then like 2 seasons.
>>338327453
ps2, gamecube or pc version?
>>338322990
Reading Amazing Spider-Man from the beginning was quite enjoyable, mostly because they didn't retcon major events every few years.
With the huge emphasis on Peter maintaining relationships and schoolwork with being Spider-Man it almost reads like a soap opera. It eventually gets shitty though. Writers retconned Aunt May dying by saying it was a clone that died, retconned Harry Osborn's death by saying Mysterio faked it, and sort of retconned Gwen dying by bringing a Gwen Stacy clone into existence and writing the original Gwen as having kids with Norman Osborn.
It's why I stopped reading modern ASM.
I have to say Spiderman 2 definitely, though looking through the thread, i didnt really know the existence of Ultimate Spiderman. I watched the first 10 minutes of the game and holy shit the game looks bad as hell.
>squeaky peet voice
>ugly artstyle
>comic panel cutscenes
Does the game get better or is this what the game is going to look like?
>>338328160
t's shit
The best Spiderman games are Spiderman 2 and the beat-emups like Maximum Carnage and Separation Anxiety.
Rest is crap.
>>338318242
I was just talking with a fried the other day about how I hope we get a new (good) Spider-man game one day soon. I know the ratio of good to bad Spider-Man games is mostly bad/mediocre but when they are good they are REALLY good.
>>338328160
I think I played it once years ago. I didn't think very highly of it myself.
People always say SM2, mostly because they made an awesome swing mechanics that felt responsive and fast. Doesnt the other games present that? I mean, what diferentiates SM from other superpowered sandboxes is the swing.
>>338318242
Spiderman 2 for the PC
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOU6HVSL6a8
>>338321850
Because it's the only one he played, obviously pc version is the best, like always
>>338328279
Shattered Dimensions is alright.
>>338328446
Spider-Man for PS1 is the absolute best comic book video game of all time because it came before the capeshit films blew up and everything became gritty, it's fun and diverse as fuck in locations and characters and PERFECTLY captures Spidey and Venom to the point where it is the definitive version of them to me.
Spider-Man 2 has better gameplay but everything else is much worse, and none of the other spidey games are that great.
>>338322990
Only read the Spider-Clone Saga, everything else is shit.
>>338318923
lmao that's just a black sabbath song ripped off 100%
>>338322990
There is no entry point for long running superhero comics, people just read some random thing and develop the interest to read other random things.
Only a psychopath would start at the first volume ever and read chronologically.
>>338329308
>Only a psychopath would start at the first volume ever and read chronologically
I wonder how long it would take to read from the very start. It would be rather daunting honestly.
>>338329308
Get a load of this fucking casual.
>>338319156
Tobey was cool.
>>338329629
Not to mention it split off into like 4 different fucking comics at one point all with connected events it was fucking mind boggling
>Amazing Spider-man
>Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-man
>The Web of Spider-man
>The Sensational Spider-man
What do you want for the next Spiderman game? Who do you want to make it?
>>338318242
Spiderman: Web of Shadows. The best spiderman game there is and ever will be.
You people just don't understand real value
>>338322990
This one is pretty good, rented it from a public library on a whim a couple of years ago and the writing was actually pretty good for ASM.
>>338332183
What makes it so good?
>>338318496
>>338318519
Is it really that good? I tried playing it not long ago but I fucking quit early on after I realized you have to do those stupid city events just to progress in the story. I might go back to it but I hate blatant padding like this
>>338331543
Some anon tried story timing ASM from the start months back, never stuck around for the later threads tho so I wonder how far he got
What are the best Marvel crossover events to read that aren't too edgy?
>>338319156
Toby was good, garfield was a shit
>>338332897
Infinity Gauntlet.
>>338318939
>Spider-Man
>being some young guy going about life protecting a city
>NOPE.JPEG
>he needs PURE ACTION
>fuck Peter Parker
>fuck protecting the city
>HE'S GOTTA FIGHT 24/7
>FUCK GOING TO DR. CONNOR'S CLASS
>FUCK DELIVERING PIZZA
>NO PETER NEVER EXISTED THERE'S ONLY SPIDER-MAN
that's you
>>338332897
This is pretty much the mother of all crossovers. Its pretty good since it brings all of the superheroes marvel had going on at the time together for the first time ever you can tell the writes had alot of fun writing it.
>>338322990
>asking a bunch of losers with no jobs who only play video games and shitpost online about comics
You're loss
>>338332050
There's a rumor floating about that Sucker Punch is making a Spider-Man game.
>>338327258
It isn't awful. It's probably the best SM cartoon to date.
The other guy was either baiting or being contrarian.
>>338332405
RAAAAAAR ROOOOOOY DOOOYThere are no good words for this
>>338332697
>you have to do those stupid city events just to progress in the story
They take a few minutes each, and you don't have to do that many.
>>338322419
>that fucking sound at the start of the level
PLEASE tell me that's shitty sound emulation. Jesus FUCK.
>>338328446
>I actually played this crap as a kid
I never owned consoles as a kid. Better rectify this since I own many now.
who is your favorite superhero and why is it spiderman
>>338335573
Because he's more grounded than other superheroes. That, and spiders are sick, so a human with a spider's abilities is even sicker.
>>338318242
Spiderman 2, obviously. One of the comfiest games ever made.
