I played male originally, mostly paragon. But that was when the game was first released.
I'll probably go female then but I'm having a hard time making a female character that doesn't look like a beast. Male on the other hand is easy supermodel creation

Male Shepard with the default face is the only acceptable choice. If you want to have a potato faced custom character or hear Jennifer Hale hamming it up you are doing it wrong.
