So in recent years I noticed that some motherboards have started to market themselves as pro gaming.

However are these motherboards legit or are they just a scam like pro gaming headsets?

Yes and no.. do they effect you gaming experience at all? No. Are they setup better for gaming rigs (sli slots, liquid cooling powered directly to motherboard, dual bios, etc.) Yes, very much so.

So say that a person has little interests or plans for sli, will get liquid cooling and knows shit about dual bios. What then?

My msi m7 Made it so much easier to overlook the cpu and ram. Plus all the extra features are nice

Overclock* fuck
>>

I was wondering more if one should bother with a pro gaming then or just get a good motherboard for an equal if not cheaper price.
>>
>>338290775
It depends if you plan on over clocking, watercooling going slightly boosting ram clocks etc etc

Overcloking maybe

Watercooling yes, with summers getting worse and worse each year.

Well a regular ATX sized motherboard from a known company should be enough unless you really want to do things like SLI/Crossfire/Overclock/Raid

Avoid all uATX and mATX models though

What's wrong with MAtx? I use one in my PC and I get The same performance as some jackass using a $300 board

I've got a Gigabyte Z87-HD3 - should I consider upgrading this before upgrading to a 9xx/1xxx series card from Nvidia?

might need to ask /g/

I bought an Asrock z170 Pro4S

Not at all, what gives you the idea?

They look better in your rig and are pretty easy to use most of the time
