There's nothing funnier than people shitting all over 3 while proclaiming NV to be the best thing since sliced bread.
They're both dogshit. 1 and 2 remain the only decent FO games, because they had actual writers on board, and decisions that were a million times more interesting than anything the later games had to offer. NV is bland, uninspired, and manages to feel even more linear than 3 thanks to the ringroad system, which is a real feat for an open-world game. The main story is dull, of little consequence, and is populated solely by characters you don't give a single fuck about.
holy shit
<<</vg/
these games are talked about way too much seriously

Stopped reading right there.

So you stopped reading when the post ended?

Nothing to object to here.
I'll just point out that although bland and pretty much empty [vanilla anyway], NV had a lot of connection to 1&2. Namely the NCR.
And dismemberment.
>the ringroad system
i wonder how many people actually just followed the road all the way to vegas, instead of exploring the world around it. personally i wanted to walk into benny's casino as a jacked up badass motherfucker.
>Fallout 2
>good
when will this meme day
it's almost as bad as praising Baldur's Gate like neo/v/ does nowadays

I really liked all the small name drops of towns and events of Fallout 1 and 2, it really felt like the locations of 1/2 were just west of the mojave which helped the worldbuilding.

...And the fanboy squeal I made when I realized that they didn't Harrol'd his ass like the poor bastard in FO3. Now that was just mean and uncalled for.

[i kind of continued the statement in your stead, sorry]
Oh yeh, and the last thing that was done right was to bring back the original enclave armor. That "tactics" design in 3 was just... awful

They're both dogshit. Wasteland will remain the only decent post-apo game, because it had actual writers on board, and decisions that were a million times more interesting than anything the later games had to offer. 2 is bland, uninspired, and manages to feel even more linear than 1 thanks to the ringroad system, which is a real feat for an open-world game. I liked the originals.
But I never did a playtrough with an inteligent character.
Isn't inteligence the best stat?
>>338252832
>because they had actual writers on board
so did NV
>NV is bland, uninspired
[citation needed]
>and manages to feel even more linear than 3
Fallout 3 started you close to the middle of the map, while New Vegas starts you in the side corner of the map, so of course there would be limited ways to progress to the top of the map from there; that doesn't mean you're starved for choice, as you can take the Nipton path, the Sloan path, the Black Mountain path or the Scorpion Gulch path to get through to the other side of the map, which means it is not linear
if you were baiting for bumps, you didn't get mine. Start threads with quality posts, not shitposts, you piece of fuck.

>They're both dogshit
Well, yes, they are. So is 4. They are decent games, but terrible Fallout games.
But if comparing 3 and NV specifically, NV eats 3 alive in terms of gameplay, story, choices and it actually being an RPG game
>>338256782
Pretty much, it doesn't do all that much in actual gameplay, but you get an extra skillpoint for each point of INT you take.
>>338252832

How is NV a bad Fallout game.
