I'm referring general movement, map awareness, accuracy when you need to deal damage, decision making in which targets to support when.
None of this is specifically unique to mercy, you can learn all of these skills playing other characters and then move to mercy and be a great mercy.
Similar to how say Tracer and Reinhardt and Genji and Roadhog, Junkrat and Pharah each have a lot more character specific things to consider and manage.
