Why isn't there a modern Captain America video game that doesn't suck or that isn't totally meh?
Because Disney just killed their interactive division and only seems to be interested in giving their licenses to shitty mobile apps.

Cap just isn't popular enough, sadly.I always find it funny that people with no Marvel knowledge assume Cap is jingoist conservative because of the name and theme, when in reality he's a huge fucking liberal. Even in his early days he was pretty leftist.

The closest you have are Marvel games that feature him but only as a part of a team or something. But never a good solo CA game.

They could make one now considering that Cap is way more popular than he was before, and Cap is one of the easiest superheroes to make videogames for(platforming+combat+puzzle solving).
Disney is all about that mobile and Infinity though, so it doesn't matter.
