Hell no, Dracula X is a great Castlevania game.

Rondo of Blood is one of the best Castlevania games ever, but Dracula X on SNES is not a "version" of it, it's a completely different game using some of the same sprites.
Most of the bosses are new, and all of the levels are 100% different, the only one that's similar to any level of Rondo is the first level, only in the location (Aljiba town), because the level layout is different too.
Dracula X is a much greater challenge than RoB too. If you like challenging CV games like CV1, 3 or X68K, then Dracula X is your game.
Rondo is great but it's a lot friendlier for CV newbies, which is why so many people love it (it's still a great game despite difficulty though)

This, out of all the classic games, Bloodlines is the one I liked the least.
Not that it's a bad game, it has amazing music and it's still a good game, but it has a lot of weird things such as too many auto-scrolling sections, weird bosses that seem a bit out of place in Castlevania (wtf was that boss in the germany level?) and most of all I'm not a big fan of the controls, the hitbox detection or the overall level design.
Still a good game but my least favorite classicvania.
We can all agree X68k/Chronicles Original mode has the worst hitboxes in the series, yes?

For Castlevania to be similar to Mario games they'd need a run button, I think the first CV that let you run was SOTN (and not with a dedicated button anyway), it's not accurate and it's a shitty forced meme by an autist, shame on you.

I don't consider any of these part of the classicvanias. Well, Simon's Quest technically is, but it's more of a proto-SOTN than a classicvania.
Also I'm with >>338235096, CV64 was good, people give it too much shit for being a 5th gen game, the only real "problem" the game has is the camera and it's not even that big of a deal most of the times.
Bloodlines is a good game, but among all the classicvanias is the one I enjoyed the least.

Are you me? I'm so fucking sick of people saying that Dracula X is a butchered port or a lesser version of Rondo of Blood. They're not the same game and Dracula X isn't trying to be RoB. RoB is the superior game for many reasons, but Dracula X is still fantastic game and feels a lot more like a Castlevania game to me than Super IV) though Super IV is still fucking great, it's just so dull looking to me plus I think whipping in 8 directions is a little lame. I am also arin hanson) I love Dracula X because I can pick it up and play it on my SNES at any time and beat it in about 30 minutes, so it's just a great way to spend a half an hour. Not to mention it has a great soundtrack, as expected.
The only bad CV game that I've played is The Adventure on GB. I haven't played Lament of Innocence, the two N64 games or Judgment though.honestly all three look kinda fun to me
