Sometimes I have the 'pausing' mechanic in busy/action/scary dreams. I don't know why, but I definitely do panic when I can't pause because I don't know how I ever did in the first place.
This was when I was a kid.

I eventually got them playing regularly and it felt so fucking great.

I used to be able to pause most of my dreams as a kid, well mostly when the dream got to spooky, or I was about to die or some shit. They always had a pause menu similar to THPS 2, with like a retry, exit, continue etc.

Most of my dreams concerning video games are bad, most likely from watching/playing too much horror related stuff. I could be perfectly fine, then this feeling of dread washes over me for no reason and makes me think something scary is going to happen, and then it happens.
An example would be me walking past this dude who I've never seen before. A few seconds later, I get the feeling that the guy is chasing me and I look back and sure enough, I'm being chased. I can hardly ever make good things happen, but it's easy as hell to make bad things happen.
One time I played so much Panel de Pon that I dreamt I was playing Panel de Pon. That's it.
