Doomguy spent millenia fighting demons across multiple dimensions. Hell ultimately decided to trap him in one of dimensions as simply killing him just didn't work.
UAC from the game seem to be from the same timeline Doomguy disappeared from, they just find him few years after his disappearance according their timeline/universe.

It's heavily implied it's the same Doomguy. Just since earth was destroyed by Doom 64 and the last humans shot into space to survive the earth getting raped at the end of 2.
Doomguy then stayed in hell as their gate keeper to prevent hell from invading ever again. He did his job so goddamn well he became a living Boogeyman to the demons forcing them to the lower reaches of hell in fear until a chosen one type Demon stepped forth to slay Doomguy. This is the Titan. After a few days of fighting Doomguy fucking skullfucked the Titan into oblivion and his half rotted carcass is the Titan level in this game.
After that a demon or angel or a Templar came to Doomguy and upgraded his old armor to the Praetorian armor and gave him a demon slaying sword and shield so he could fuck hell even harder.
Demons couldn't kill him so they tricked him into the Blood temple and dropped the whole structure on him and sealed it with magic and warnings to never EVER open it, keeping him alive but in stasis.
When Olivia contacted or was contacted by her patron demon she was ordered to make sure Doomguy isn't discovered. Which Samuel found out about and went and grabbed him just incase hell breaks loose.
They point out its odd that he's a normal human thinking he'd be a demon or angel in the tomb and find it odd the Praetorian armor is a mix of human tech and demonic magic before they started those projects themselves.

Have you ever thought that time in hell moves faster than our own dimension? A thousand years in hell time could be 20 years normal time. And if hell is a separate dimension from our own, then it's possible for other dimensions do exist, one where the events of 1/2/64 never happened.
The templars could be very well be the spirits of the alien race that inhabited Mars, and fled to earth to begin anew. And the Doomguys armor is obviously a mixture of human technology and Templar/demon magic.

In warhammer 40k the alien race Tau has a commander who took his team and killed a shit ton of orks on planets, a demon tried to kill him on a human planet but he accidentally found a sword which he used in his giant mech to killed the demon.
Afterwards he kept that sword and used it in battle even though the Tau never does melee attacks. Farsight taught his men to fight with melee when need to and they attacked many worlds, even leaving the reaches of the Tau home worlds, where he started his own Enclave since the Tau leaders branded him a traitor.
But unknown to Farsight, the sword he has uses unknown alien energy that when he cuts down an opponent he steals the remaining bit of life that opponent would have had, thus he has been able to live for 103 years.
