I played blind and didn't grind at all and I beat it the first time. I don't even really remember the fight. It surprised me to come onto the internet and find that it was notable at all. It could have been that our party compositions and skills were different, or maybe I was a bit older and those few years of RPG experience made all the difference.
I got my ass handed to me by Yunalesca, though. Multiple times.
