It's pretty neat. Some cheesiness in the animation aside, you really have to see it in action to appreciate it.
It's like some kind of crazy fucking intermediary Metal Gear unit that never was, one that invested heavily in "Haha, fucking tank treads".
You also have "Surprisingly fast for being big, while also being like Jaws/Jason Voorhees", like the Gouf Custom. Oh, I guess it also sort of has the whole confounding "slow walk" speed too. It shows up in surprising places like Mobile Suit Batman. And it is by far the biggest and most brutish looking Mobile Suit in that scene. In Battletech terms I guess it's "Thing" is kind of like what "Heavy Mechs that also FLY" like the Thor have going. It's surprisingly mobile, and bulky. Timberwolves are like that too. However ugly you think they look, they can MOVE.

Dude I've barely seen any Gundam aside from the original, 08th, and G but that doesn't stop me for liking the designs.
Start with HG, because they're cheaper and still give you nice detail. Get some model plastic clippers (to cut the pieces out), a hobby knife (to slice and file the nubs down), some very fine sandpaper (to file the nubs down even better and help blend them.
