I just feel numb, I mean I cried like 5 times when I watched uncovered but now the hype for this game just seems gone and to me, that is largely because it looks like they've either downgraded the game from Duscae or just deviated from it too much. I loved the UI, the Camera and the loadout on Duscae and to me the game was already perfect as it was and I don't know why but now it just looks worse than it dose in that demo.
I feel so shitty about myself and this game now, it's partly because doesn't feel like the same game I played in Duscae anymore, it looks and feels like a different game now and I can't really put my finger on why.

Yes I concur that it took very long but that's mainly because it can get really complicated, they were trying to ease it bit by bit for all players to enjoy it and overdid it, but endgame combat is fucking fantastic especially when you don't use auto battle and queue up shit, if you look at the aftermath without UI you get incredible action on screen too, I haven't been impressed with any kind of turn based combat ever since I played 13 and I was a filthy PC secondary.

Noctis is the only one with the Action RPG gameplay so yes. Everyone else you give commands from a menu and otherwise act on their own AI strategy system, you will have access to how they operate plus their growth system to get new commands, doing coop moves with Noctis and what not.
There isn't character switching but like I said you can give commands to them during battle. The yellow bar here also acts as their ATB bar which fills up as ATB bars do and then depletes when you input their commands. The system is called AXB, Active Cross Battle and is to be a cross between Noctis's ARPG system and the party members ATB menu command system.
They confirmed there will be a female who joins, and there are others who join at various points in the game, such as Cor. We did see a girl that looks like Yuffie traveling with them in the car during the Uncovered trailer but we don't know who she is and it was the first time we ever saw her.
