Thoughts ?
>>338128872
Wow it's like I'm watching an MMD video.
They really took the novel out of visual novel didn't they?
>>338128872
>English
holy shit the artstyle is so bad
>Those brick textures
Is this a Windows 95 screensaver?
>muh grafix
>Anons complaining about graphics
>This game was funded by hopes and dreams
God damn those animations. Quality head swinging and lip mouth movement.
Should have just sticked to VLR style. Or even better, 999 sprites.
Gameplay is same as ever, so not much to say about that.
>>338130817
They decided to take away it being a visual novel in order to animate it. Only the animations are absolute shit.
If it had stayed a visual novel no one would have cared.
Why don't they just make an anime of the series at this point? Nobody's going to buy the game when you can have the full experience readily available on YouTube.
>>338130817
The devs said they were going for Walking Dead style approach. Which I was fine with, but I should've expected something like this.
Can't really expect developer who has made visual novels to make seamless jump to style of developer that had years of experience on adventure games.
>>338131053
You could say that for fucking everything.
Anime costs money, and is generally used to advertise other products, that are seen to be worth of advertising. These days it's rare for a show to be truly stand-alone.
>time to decide
>no options to decide with
>999 / VLR sound effects are gone
I'm okay with the "cinematic" approach though. I can tell i'll be laughing at it from time to time
Also, Diana is cute!____
>>338131053
Nice bait Sakurai.
In 999the other screen was from perspective ot another character.
In VLRthe protagonist was actually young mind in body of the old "villain".
What will the twist be this time?
>>338131439
Sigma being old was only a twist for the character, K's double act seems like the real twist.
>>338131667
I'm thinking of the twist tied to presentation of the game. Not really sure if they can pull something similar this time around.
>>338131861
You're just Blick Winkle flying around / teleporting
>>338132098
Watching this got me really hype for the game again, looks like they're really ramping up the horror element and the difficult choices. The lack of novel isn't ideal, but I'll reserve judgment until it releases. As long as it's fun and suspenseful
>>338132336
meant for OP
How is the decision to pull the trigger suppose to affect the game? If it ends up killing sigma do i hav to play the rest of the game with him dead?
>>338132672
Yeah, he can actually die in that scene since he's not one of the protagonists. 6 people out of 9 have to die to complete the game, and the dilemmas decide what happens, plus the random chance mechanic because "life isn't fair".
>>338132965
6 people out of 9 die in the VLR timeline, anon. I am sure there will be a "everybody lives" ending
>>338132965
The protagonists can probably die and the story still continue, but from the other team's fragments.
>>338128872
I'm okay with this, the animation is bad but I'll deal with it, the atmosphere is promising and the interface looks much better than VLR's already.
phi is still the best
I'd prefer vn sequences, but still, I am excited
>>338134581
Yeah they probably have the Golden ending
And 6 people don't die in the VLR timeline since Sigma, Phi, Diana, Junpei and Akane are all alive for VLR
Refresh my memory.. There's no dual audio in this right?
>>338135290
There is
Why are you assuming the worst ?
>>338135290
There is.
>>338132965
I remember in one of the interview, one of the devs was mad that player look at guides on how to solve puzzles or get the best outcome and decided in this game there will be a random factor to the choices. I am scared on how this will work. If you choose the decision at the wrong time interval sigma dies instead losing his eye?
>>338128872
It's a bit weird not hearing the bleeps and blops when a character talks during the puzzles, and seeing their expressions change to what they're saying. Seems more soulless the way it is now.
Other than that and the animation quality I'm still excited as hell.
I like the voices for those 3. Hope the ice cream man does better than he does in the previous trailers.
>>338135476
Music seems like it's on point at least. But fuck those mouth animations are hilariously bad. The jerky as fuck every other animation doesn't exactly help either.
>>338135330
>>338135342
Phew, that's a relief. The last Spike Chunsoft game I played, Conception 2, didn't have dual audio so I prepared to be disappointed.
Not that I absolutely abhor the English dub but I prefer Phi's Jap voice compared to what I just heard in the trailer.
I like it. This video was clearly HD, so I assume it's the Steam version (or upscaled Vita, but it looks a little too sharp for that).
>>338135476
>It's a bit weird not hearing the bleeps and blops when a character talks during the puzzles
I guess it's possible that the message speed was just set to instantaneous. If it isn't and the messages actually scroll, you may hear the bleeps.
>>338136148
They said the steam version is gonna come out at a later date than June 28 so i dunno if it´s done already. Might be a beta build of some sort.
I´d love to see some gameplay with the japanese voices since those are pretty much an all-star cast. Also steam release when?
The mouth animations are the only thing that I -REALLY- can't get behind. Everyone just gawps all the time like a dead fish.
Considering it was funded by the power of love, I'm okay for everything else.
Gameplay looks like the same good stuff we know. Voice acting is better than the first trailer led on.
>>338128872
>models don't cover the screen when characters are talking
Disappointing, that's where the charm comes from stuff like 999, Ace Attorney and Danganronpa
>>338136964
Yeah i wonder why they changed the style. Wouldn´t it be less expensive to make in VN-style?
I'm still confused why Laura Bailey didn't end up voicing Diana in this game? Does Diana have the same JP VA in both ZTD and VLR or am I missing something here?
they really should've stuck to the VN style with such a low budget
it looks terrible but I'm still hyped
>>338136964
I agree, but there was still some good banter in the puzzle section.
>Sigma realizes this isn't the time to sort Phi out as garbage
>>338137490
If they had such a low budget how did they get that japanese cast?
>Tomokazu Sugita
>Miyuki Sawashiro
>Tatsuhisa Suzuki
>Aki Toyosaki
>Akira Ishida
>Maaya Sakamoto
>Mamiko Noto
>Chiaki Omigawa
>Daisuke Ono
>>338137769
they obviously spent 90% of the budget hiring the japanese cast and then forgot they had to make the assets to the game
>>338137860
The assets are okay, they just doesn't know how to animate them at all.
>>338138043
>>338137860
Should have just made the entire game with 999 sprites. I´d play the shit out of it anyway.
>>338138085
sprites are generally more time consuming and difficult to make than a 3D model
it's like why a majority of fighting games have made the transition to models (obvious example is the latest KoF game), it's just much cheaper
>>338128872
>mfw the music
>>338128872
The animations look so bad and the voice acting is a little awkward but I'm still happy that part 3 was finally made. I was starting to lose hope
>>338138170
It's also easier to use models for twenty different scenes of people accidentially murdering each other than make unique CGs for all action scenes.
Holy fuck do these cutscenes look awful. They really should've just kept it like a VN. Maybe the 3DS version looking like shit will make the animations not seem so bad in comparison.
Hearing Phi in all her snarkiness after all these years though feels pretty comforting.
>>338138602
>you lived long enough to see Phi and Sigma exchange bantz one more time
>>338138475
>accidentally
I bet Eric isn´t gonna be bout them accidents. More like straight up choking a bitch.
>>338138240
It is bretty gud
I wish that decision jingle was longer
>>338139039
Neither is Mira, and there's probably going to be some teams wiping out the others too.
>>338139178
>that one scene where Sigma has to choose between pulling the trigger on Diana or burning Phi
It´s gonna be brutal as fuck.
>>338139312
>that one scene where Sigma has to choose between pulling the trigger on Diana or burning Phi
What? I'm fairly certain that doesn't happen.
>>338128872
How'd we go from this?
>>338139578
To this?
>>338139531
Yeah it was the other way round. Diana can decide if she pulls the trigger on Sigma to save Phi in the incinerator.
Japanese version when?
>>338128872
>shoestring budget
I expected it but damn. Shoulda just stuck to the novel format because unless later scenes are really good it's just going to look like one anyway
3DS OR Vita?????????
>>338140070
Did the developers make decent profits from 999 and VLR? They seem like decently popular games
>>338140225
They didn't do too hot in Japan but did really well outside of Japan. Chunsoft wasn't going to make a third but the western fanbase and probably Aksys got them on board.
I got used to the animations like 2 mins into the video
I just focused on the subtitles
It's gonna be great.
Can't wait for it, gonna start my ZE replay soon
The only thing that bothers me is a shitload of VLR music is being reused, both in the trailers and the actual gameplay.
I mean i want morphogenetic sorrow to play again as much as anyone else but not all of the previous OSTs
>>338128872
Hating the approach they went with, but we are lucky getting this game to be even made.
>>338140321
>>338140414
Let´s just be happy that Uchi somehow managed to get it greenlit. Probably had to call in a lot of favors. Kinda weird that it worked considering his Punchline anime apparently flopped as well.
>>338140609
What's odd is that Punchline didn't do well but it's game has better animation than ZTD.
>>338129183
Fucking this. THIS is what I was worried about when they announced that they emphasize more on cinematic experience.
This ain't a visual novel anymore.
You fucking did this, fucking white piggu.
>>338140609
>Zero Escape 3 was greenlit
>Nier 2 being made by Platinum
>The Last Guardian wasn't cancelled after all
>FF Versus XIII coming out soon
>Ni-Oh escaped development hell and is actually good
>>338131439
Blick Winkel is Brother from the True End timeline where Left is saved and he goes on to become a good guy rather than starting Free the Soul
The game is about him helping with his own creation
>>338140727
No one asked for this, Uchikoshi mentioned ages ago he wanted to do cinematic style and movie stuff, hence directing an anime. I would have preferred a VN too, but if Uchi wants to do this then I'm expecting a new narrative twist.
>>338141198
>Brother
>good guy
Go away, Dio.
>>338141097
>Ace Combat 7, set in Strangereal, is happening
>DMC5 all but confirmed
>>338131439
Zero is actuallyYou, the person playing the game. It was your support and desire for the game that caused Zero Escape 3 (Schrodinger's Game) to be created, in other words you are directly responsible for the creation of the Decision Game and the tortures within
>>338141370
B-but i never wanted Jumpy to suffer anymore...
>>338141526
Too bad. He already told you in VLR he was at the test site, but you just HAD to play it out for yourself, didn't you? You just HAD to sign that petition. It's your fault.
>>338141630
I-i thought he was just involved in the planning. I couldn´t have known!Jumpy had a hard life, why must he suffer so much?
Are they moving away from VNs because they want to appeal to westerners?
Never go full westaboo
Man I wish I could just forget about 999 and play it again for the first time. It was a special feeling, that atmosphere created by those shitty 3d backdrops and music, which VLR tried to recreate but did a slightly worse job. I don't know what it was about 999 but that game legitimately scared me more than any horror game. Might as well see the series through to the end I guess
>>338142002
Thing with 999 was I almost dropped the game on my first playthrough, because I got the knife ending which is the most abrupt, unsatisfying one. I'm glad I stuck it out, but I was really pissed off that THAT was my ending, and I had to go back to the beginning and redo like an hour of puzzles and novel sections (with skipping) to see something else.
>>338131439
Sigma has to die to reach the good end, however thanks to quantum immortality he is trapped in eternal hell. Life isn't fair.
>>338131439
In 999 and VLRyou are playing Zero.
How will they do it in ZTD? Will the trend continue?
>>338142105
I think i got the submarine ending first. Made me wonder if someone else was in the facility except the known characters.
>>338142279
But in ZTD you play different groups/characters all the time. Are all playable characters Zero?
Recently finished VLR and it didn't come as a surprise because at that point it was the only logical conclusion but I feel there's hardly any foreshadow about Sigma being the old man, all I can think of is Luna and K giving you the password, the hologram and the fact that they never show your face but all that is pretty fucking vague, did they really did a shitty job foreshadow the twist or a lot of shit just pass over my head?
>>338142347
>All nine characters are Zero
>They all individually set up their own traps in the game for some nefarious purpose, then joined the group
>None of them know the others are also Zeroes
>Game ends with everyone attempting to triumphantly declare themselves Zero at once in a clusterfuck of monologues
>>338142347
Maybe the three designated PCs are somewhat Zero related (Diana, Carlos and Q)
>>338141787
>I-i thought he was just involved in the planning. I couldn´t have known
He's the person Diana is talking to when she says she's killed 6 billion
>>338142105
Probably would be worse if it was the coffin ending, it literally just cuts to the credits right when you think something is gonna happen, plus one might not immediately figure out you have to do it again after clearing the safe ending.
>>338142002
ZTD looks more like 999 in tone than VLR did. I know death has become completely inconsequential in this series, but the random Decision moments racks up tension because you know you might be screwed no matter what you choose.
>>338142563
>at that point it was the only logical conclusion
The only logical conclusion is that you were playing as your future self mindswapped from your younger self?, sure.
seems like sigma is acting like his normal self? I thought this was going to either be old sigma or kyle or some other entity in his body,
>>338142563
>>338142563
Phi says "Back off, grandpa" at the beginning, and says Sigma must have been doing a lot of drugs to like he does when he says how old he is.
Alice says the PhD must have taken him a long time when they talk about what they do for a living.
Dio calls Sigma a "senile old fuck" in one of the endings.
>>338142819
It is Old Sigma, and he should still be normal, he is still Sigma after all, just older, not a separate personality.
>>338142563
>a lot of shit just pass over my head?
Yes. There's not a ton of foreshadowing, but you're called an old man several times, like Dio calling you a senile fuck, Alice commenting on you spending a lot of time on your PhD and someone mentioning you must have done a ton of drugs to look like that at 22.
>>338142837
>>338142563
Plus the white hair in the video cam when K was dragging him
>>338142563
>did they really did a shitty job foreshadow the twist
If everyone figured it out then it would be a pretty shitty twist. Foreshadowing is good when it's subtle, not blatantly spoiling you.
>>338142563
Sigma being old might also, funnily enough, explain why he's always unable to run out the exit and gets subdued pretty easily in some endings.
>>338142869
yet a fucking "pioneer" in the field of genetic engineering struggles to figure out a puzzle to save someone he cares about?
>>338142563
It did pass over your head
Phi calls you an old pervert a lot of times
Alice comments on how you suck to still be in college at that age
There are others
>>338142869
People only associate old Sigma with TERMITES, though from Kyle's story he did sound borderline autistic. He does seem a lot more cynical than he did in VLR though.
>>338143086
He doesn't struggle tho
How much he struggles depends on you as the player
>>338143086
At what point does he struggle? Diana (you) is the one solving the puzzle, Sigma actually says there aren't enough clues to solve the puzzles.
>>338142742
Well no but the only conclusion is that you were somehow Zero, all the others have their story corroborate at that point, except Phi but we know that Zero is man.
>>338143086
Just because you are a pioneer in some advanced shit doesn't mean you can magically know solutions to puzzles you had no prior knowledge about.
>>338143106
He was never in a situation where he got to act with more than Kyle or Akane though so it might just be a different aspect of his personality. Or this could be another twist.
>>338142675
He isn't, why do people keep thinking that? He just says he was involved, he never said how, and now we know he was stuck in a room with Akane.
>>338143106
>>338143331
Maybe Sigma in ZTD is actually Kyle? We don´t know where Kyle´s conciousness went.
Inb4 it went into the dog
>>338143336
>He isn't, why do people keep thinking that?
Because he tells you that in VLR.
Reminder that if Aksys already has the game on Nintendo's servers, pirates can find it and download it straight from there.
Be afraid.
>>338143501
No, he merely said he was involved, not that he was operator man.
>>338143594
I don't care, my 3DS is hacked so as long as they upload it somewhere I'll be pretty happy.
>>338143747
I think he meant in terms of spoilers.
>>338143747
I'd rather it not be leaked at all, I don't want to keep looking for the game while trying to avoid spoilers. If it's only available at the official date I can just stay off internet those days.
>>338130920
I didn't know that. If that's true, then fine. Still, I wish they experimented with a series I don't care about instead.
>>338142105
I got the coffin ending first time around followed by getting the sub ending 2 times in a row. Pissed me off bad
Only recently did I finally go back and get the rest of the endings. Loved it after picking it back up though
>>338143449
Kylegroomed to be the future Zero/replacement Zero
AkanaZero in 999
Sigma Sr.Zero in ZTD
All will inhibit one of the three PCs in ZTD.
Old Sigma - Young Sigma
Akane - Diana
Kyle - Q
>>338143948
Additionally, this would continue the zero escape trend of the PC being Zero.
>>338143948
Meant Old Sigma - Carlos. Mixed up the details there.
>>338144003
>trend
Does it really count as a trend if it only happened in one game?Junpei was not Zero, as far as I can remember.
>>338130817
>teams of two or one man can make better graphics than this shit
>MUH DIFFICULT FUNDING
This is incompetence, it has nothing to do with money
>>338143449
Maybe Kyle is Zero
What the fuck is this shit?
It's not even visual novel anymore
More like another Telltale shit.
Im angry as fuck
>>338144301
They made a whole new engine for ZTD. You´re telling me one guy can do that in this short time? Not to mention new models, backgrounds, etc.
>"gameplay"
It's just watching cutscenes for hours and then playing a shit puzzle.
Jap equivalent of those shit heavy rain games.
>>338144197
You weresolving puzzles as Akane though
>>338144627
At least there won´t be quicktime events,r-right?
>>338128872
Diana will be better than Luna.
>>338138170
Is not like it has to be animated, just make a pretty pic and edit the facial expression 10 times.
>>338136440
Stream version is coming out on the same day in Japan. We're just being cucked by Aksys because it's not part of their publishing deal.
It's hard to watch when their voices have emotion and their faces have the same fucking expression.
>>338144940
how are diana and luna related anyway
their names are connected to the moon, you know
>>338137363
Yes she does. English dubs are just bad and inconsistent.
>>338128872
And they had such nice art for the promos and character designs.
>>338145317
>how are diana and luna related anyway

i haven't finished vlr yet

That is not Confession.
I think the composer of 999 and VLR does sad slow tunes much better than his upbeat themes. Morphogenetic Sorrow from 999 and Confession from VLR blow the rest of the tracks away.

>>DMC5 all but confirmed
I'd not hold my breath on that after the pachinko announcement
>>338146081
I feel the opposite way. I like tracks like Clarification, Demise, Ternary and Septenary Game more than the emotional ones.
What the fuck did they do. Why couldn't it just be like it was
>>338139627
Why is she topless?
And why can't we see the boobs? Because they look fantastic.
>>338146078
Actually I kinda agree. 999 was overall more interesting. There was this feeling of wanting to replay the game to go through a different door to see if it led to the mystery 9 door. VLR became a go into this room, solve a puzzle, get a keycard, come back, watch people screw around.
If you want spoilers, just say the word.
>>338128872
Would have been nice if the character models at least resembled the box art.
>>338146261
>Not wanting to fuck Luna and Diana
KYS.
The facial rigging's a bit awkward but honestly, I wasn't affected enough to not take the story seriously, and VLR had even more awkwardness so I'll be fine. Plus, I imagine they may have tweaked it a bit since then, since this seems to essentially be the demo shown off to the press a while back.
Either way, pretty damn good all things considered. In a perfect world they could've commissioned one of Telltale's 3D animators or something
>>338146504
>Why is she topless?
Well, they're near the incinerator room, so it's kind of hot.
>And why can't we see the boobs?
Because Junpei's blocking the view.
>>338146393
I respect your opinion (especially Septenary Game, the starting is catchy but the quality deteriorates later) but regrettably disapprove of it.
>>338146832
Telltale has fatial features just as over exaggerated and shite
The whole style just sucks.
They probably should have stuck to the VN format but if I managed to genuinely tear up at the end of TWD I'll probably be able to immerse myself in this too

>hooked up to some machine
please no, Danganronpa shitters will be shitposting about how ZTD rips off V2 if that happens
I don't understand Uchikoshi's reasoning behind the fully 3D cinematic approach. Fans of Japanese games are used to reading walls of text. And this is the third game in the series, the people who played the other two are more likely to play it than anyone else; the animation must be such a turn-off to prospective "new" players.
>>338148036
Eh virtual reality is such an overdone cliche, i´m sure Uchi would never stoop that low. Riiiiiiiight, Uchi?
>In the last minute it is revealed that the animations are shitty because you have exponential 9, a virus that makes your brain unable of processing movement porperly
>>338145848
Same, people got over complaining about graphics after playing VLR, I can deal with this as long as the game is good.
>>338148297
I think it might have been his original intention for the series to be like ZTD, but budget constraints led to him developing it in a VN style ala his Ever 17 series.
When he got a miracle on high and managed to get ZTD greenlit he probably just said BALLS TO THE WALL YO and decided to rock his original vision no matter what
>>338148468
Well he had noone snooping into his business this time so he just went balls deep.
>>338148297
He had to make up an explanation to not spoil his brand new cinematic narrative twist.

I never found the models in VLR shit honestly.
I don't think it's that bad. Sure it's low budge but so were the VN styles. The voices bother me the most but dual audio has been confirmed anyway.

I can't believe we've come this far already. Feels like just a while ago it was announced and I prepared my anus for a year's wait. Too bad the last month is gonna be the worst. It is every time.
>>338131053
Telltale games still sell well enough to have like 20 different versions of them

> Pokemon S&M the month after that.
> If we weren't lucky, English P5 basically has to come out the month after that in order to meet the 2016 release they promised. (This is December now.)
Decent year still to come boyos.
The wait shouldn't be so bad.
The voice acting is actually solid compared to the trailers but goddamn these facial expressions don't match up with the delivery and mood of the scene

Diana is Perfect.
Let me argue in defense of the movie format for a moment. Decision games are sort of like the antithesis to Ambidex games. The AB games were cold and impersonal; neither side could argue their case to the other, and both parties would be directly by the outcome. With the decision games, everyone is clearly present, and theonly party that isn't directly affected by the outcome. To set up such a different sort of game, you'd need a different predentation. That way you can watch as Diana pulls the trigger, for example. It would be awkward if a cutscene occurred in a VN though. Just imagine those shitty cgs from VLR, except in motion. By removing the VN aspect and just replacing it with cutscenes they can make the decision segemnts seem more natural.
>>338149869
How dare you? Phi is beautiful. She also has a bountiful C-cup.
>>338137769
the power of love anon
that's the only thing fueling Uchikoshi at the moment

if Phi is a C-cup then i'm packin' twelve inches
>>338142589
this is an underrated post in my opinion and I wanted to toss you a (You) in appreciation for your work and service on this post.
>>338150121
I'll believe it only after Phi models that swimsuit for Sigma.
>>338150028
The movie format itself isn't bad. What's bad is the facial animations, specifically the mouths
>>338150305
>after Phi models that swimsuit for Sigma.
Why would she model for her Father?
>>338150305
They're siblings
>>338150223
>>338150305
Bigger version. Also i bet Carlos is rocking them 12 inches.
>>338150028
I agree with movie cutscenes having much more of an impact on the Decision segments, as static VN cutscenes of people trapped in death traps doesn't have the same effect in a countdown.
I do wish the animation wasn't shit but I can get used to this.
>>338150460
Probably that loose "not actually blood related so it's okay" kind of siblings that Japan loves
>>338150548
Uchikoshi stated there would be no romantic relation between Phi and Sigma anyway
>>338150548
There's a reason Uchikoshi said SigxPhi is out of the window very explicitly in the QnA
>>338150583
I know that, but for other people into it it helps their fantasies, I guess
>>338150548
But Sigma has Diana anyway?

>>338148854
>>338148297
>the 10th person is the camera man
>>338150583
It's not because they're related. It's becauseshe's a lesbian and Diana's lover. Sigma builds Luna based on the woman who cucked him with another chick.
>>338150619
I find it more likely that she's his daughter, I wonder which one of his twists Uchi will reuse this time.
>>338150724
That seems a little stranger.
The double babies picture just hints at Phi being a fraternal twin with SOMEONE important, and Sigma's the only other person with the timejump ability.
Daughter seems a bit much to me.

>>338150794
>Someone important
What if it´s Junpei?Or Santa?
>>338150794

>Sigma's the only other person with the timejump ability
Phi and Akane can jump too.
Sigma has good taste in Women.

That made me laugh in the game.
>>338150930
Can´t Kyle jump too?
>>338150795
>Implying Sigma didn't have a piece of Akane on the moon
Why else would Junpei suddenly turn full "hurr I'm not a hero" edgelord? He realized the woman he thought he loved is a time traveling whore.
>>338150930
>only OTHER
Akane can't displace her soul, she starts from a fixed point of her choice and then lives out the timeline until she dies or jumps back to the starting line.
And yeah, the white hair on the upper baby could just be a light source, who knows.
>>338150878
This is Uchikoshi we're talking about

I liked it all the way through, but I don't really like Carlos's and Eric's voices. Q is fine, but Akane is a bit plain compared to the Japanese version. The good thing is that at worst it's gonna be decent.
>>338153595
You barely need to know what the games actually are about, superficially the premise of 999 seems very similar to Saw.
>>338153595
Why would you post in a thread for the final installment of a story-heavy series without having played the previous ones?

Have all the nonshitposters left to avoid spoilers, or have I lived long enough to see ZE threads genuinely turn to shit?
Check Karen's twitter btw, this is early footage from the San Fran event. They mentioned they'd have to sync lips still at the event, so they probably have animators finetuning shit already. Characters themselves LOOK nice imo, I think it's more of an animation thing that makes 'em look funky. Some of those background objects or textures are kinda funky too, but I really don't know what to say to that. Hope that since this is earlier footage that they'll look better upon release? Regardless, this is earlier footage, so the Trailers that they released after the San Fran event should be looked at more closely to indicate quality or QUALITY.

Did you miss the console war threads after the first trailer? This is nothing, we're past the worst shitposting about consoles and graphics. If VLR discussion is anything to judge by, no one's going to talk about this shit after the game has released.
I'm glad to hear that they're working on lipsyncing, because in this footage it didn't look like they were even trying.
>>338171106
Ah man, that's dumb. In that case, I hope the 3DS version won't have any gamebreaking bug this time.
>>338131252
The options are not shooting or clicking on the gun to shoot. I imagine the "intuitive choice" approach to these will be used to hide secret choices in other Decisions. Like, if a choice was presented as A or B, but smart players might notice a choice C within the countdown.
>>338171424
Nah, I saw those too. I think threads improved for a bit, sometimes I'll go through an entire thread without ANYONE bringing up some "Vita beats 3DS" post which is ALWAYS followed up by some "n-nuh uh, PC MASTER RACE". Yeah, at the event, they switched between languages mid-cutscene to show off that feature. While doing that, they mentioned that the lips were currently synced to moon language, but that they're going to work on syncing them for English.
I know people shit on the lip syncing during the Trailers that they've shown off too, but a lot of those have dialogue mixed with scenes that they don't originate from, so it's a little misleading. I mean, I haven't seen the whole goddamn game, but I've seen at least a few of the scenes where they've said the lines they do in the Trailers, so at least a FEW of them are intentionally misleading, so their lips aren't supposed to sync.
Anyone try using their Vita Youtube App to fullscreen any of the ZTD gameplay or trailers? I remember thinking that it was kinda messy looking a little at the event, but seeing the gameplay on Youtube and not from a projector makes a huge difference, so seeing it at "normal" size might improve some opinions.
>>338170950
Well, it looks bad. You can hardly blame posters for reacting negatively. They aren't obligated to ignore the problems to make sure the threads stay positive. If all the problems are going to go away for the release, where's the footage showing it? The game comes out in only one month. It's finished. It's a little late to "hope" that it might get better.
>>338172372
You might have clarified this in the past, but is it possible to pause the text/scene in the cinema parts?
>>338173274
If the footage is from March then they should be able to improve the lipsyncing, though the animations are a lost case.
Regardless, console war shitposting is truly cancer.
>>338172372
To be fair though, I understand that a decent portion of the complaints are more about the "stylistic" presentation of the game rather than the graphical presentation of the game, so I can't really counter that. Not to mean this in a "a TRUE ZE fan wouldn't care!" way, but just try to ask yourself if the presentation is a dealbreaker? I still think that presentation-wise, there's probably going to be some meta nonsense that validates it.
>>338173274
Yeah, that's true. I'm pretty biased since I've already SEEN some of the footage from these recent videos. I keep seeing complaints kinda like "It looks WORSE", and I guess it annoys me because this is technically earlier footage. That's more me getting annoyed by shit people couldn't have known though, so I should probably tone it down. It's the console-war nonsense that really gets me. Of course the Vita version is going to look a little better, we don't need to bring it up every two seconds, sheesh. I guess I can't really say shit though, you're right. All I can really do is hope for a demo as a final indication of the release product, then everything past that is valid.
>>338173725
It's honestly been so long since the event that I don't remember that detail. I know for a goddamn FACT that you can't rewind, so if you miss a line, you have to just replay the scene again. That kinda sounds crappy, but I think it's keeping more in line with the tension they're trying to put on you, so pay attention! As for pausing, maybe? My gut says yes, but I can't say for sure. It's a pretty basic feature, and I don't think it'd impact the presentation too much, so probably?... I'm just guessing really though. I think Aksys put out an article before talking about the Fragment controls, maybe look that up. Sorry dude.
When is the 999/VLR stream taking place?
>>338174361
>if you miss a line, you have to just replay the scene again
Didn't they already confirm that there's a text log like in VLR?
>>338150667
>loose fit
in the fucking trash
>>338171473
Japanese steam release is on the same day. Just pirate that one and buy it when aksys stops cucking us.
>>338174361
Oh, just to clarify that first point, I'm talking about the cinematic feel to it when I'm mentioning presentation. Graphically, I think the characters are alright, but some of the background stuff can be a little funky. That door Eric slammed into in Trailer 2 was a pretty good looking door though...
>>338174796
If they did, I forgot all about it. Sorry dude.
>>338174931
Maybe he lost a bunch of weight before getting into the test site, and he didn't have time to buy new pants. Maybe he's secretly Jared Fogle in disguise, and he'll be going after Q's tender young body. Don't doubt Uchi's LORE.
Isn't this just a shitty ripoff of Saw?
>>338131053
Because there's still the puzzle/escape room gameplay. And if all you cared about was story you could just watch a playthrough on youtube for the novel portions of the previous games anyway.
>>338175615
Nope.
>>338145848
The in-game models of VLR are perfectly fine. Much better than 999's ingame graphics.
>>338175615
It's kinda like Saw, but with sci-fi theory nonsense and anime. It's a pretty good series though, and some of the puzzles are fun. There's a browser demo for 999, the first game, and there are demos for VLR, the second game, on eShop and PSN. As for the first puzzle in 999, check EVERY pillow. It boggles my mind how many people get so goddamn mad about that first puzzle.
>>338131053
Did you see how fucking well Punchline did? That's why.
>>338176060
Wait, people legitimately had issues with 999's puzzles? They were easy as sin, just touch everything.
>>338177048
I remember a LOT of bitching back in the 999 days about people having trouble finding one of the puzzle items because it was underneath a puzzle in the bottom right corner of the screen or something. They either didn't see the pillow, or gave up on pillows after checking the other ones. I just like to mention the pillows on the off-chance that they have trouble with it. As for other puzzles... I hate the Mover one... and the sliding block puzzle from VLR...
>>338176060
>>338177048
During my first playthrough I only found half of the code for each briefcase and I ended up guessing the other half.
After the ending I found the other paper but to me it didn't look like you could inspect that zone.
But I didn't have any issues with it, I was just blind.
The problem here isn't lipsyncing. Even with good syncing to what's being said it would look horrid. From what I can see, it looks like the models just have atrocious facial rigging.
Anyone else reminded of those interactive DVD "games" that were basically just a bunch of videos but with choices in between?
>>338177340
Though, a lot of that hate for the iceblock one was due to those touchy controls.
>>338177376
>>338177048
Yee, see? This guy didn't think he could inspect it. It's so far towards the corner of the screen that some people just write it off as part of that untouchable background.
>>338177048
I drowned in the first puzzle.
>>338177340
>>338177376
God, that's weird. I never had problems with anything in 999- everything you needed to find, you just had to touchconsidering the touch detection wasn't shit yet- moving the rack in the pantry was annoying. As far as puzzle difficulty, the only one in 999 I had anything close to trouble with was the Morse code one in the last puzzle room.
VLR gave me a hell of a lot more trouble than 999's puzzles did. Fuck the rec room, seriously.
>>338177673
Wait, can you actually fail the first room?
>>338177941
>He doesn't know
>>338177847
That stupid rec room was the first time I ever just flat out gave up and looked up the solution. I wonder if that's how niggers feel trying to take standardized tests.
We're finally getting a conclusion to a series that was gonna be canned forever and you fags are complaining about fucking graphix
God PCfags are insufferable
>>338178438
Amen.
>>338178024
Who the fuck actually fails the first puzzle? I get rage quitting if you're blind and doesn't check the pillow, but you can actually loiter around for so long you fail?
>>338163484
a dog
>>338163484
You mean you don't know?!
>>338178438
They changed the whole presentation of the game to focus on the visuals instead of novel-like storytelling. Uchikoshi even said that he wanted to make it like you were watching TV, not playing a game. The visuals absolutely matter.
>>338149692
>SMTIV:Apocalypse this summer
wtf is with these faces mang
>>338149692
KoF XIV, Miku X, and GG Xrd Rev as well.
>>338182126
The big problem is in the eybrows really. That and the less anime style in a game already popular for being anime
Zero Escape started at the second one
All they need to do is make it so models freeze their animations right as their mouth is closed. The open-mouth look Diana has is a glaring flaw that can be easily fixed.
Why is there a ship blowing up in the opening cinematic of 999 if they were in the desert all along?
>>338183918
It's from 9 years agoIt's on the lower screen
>>338183918
Micheal Bay was testing some new explosives
>>338128872
Jesus christ those terrible models/animation.
>>338142589
Not bad
>>338128872
Jesus Christ this looks absolutely atrocious what the fuck
Why didn't they just go with the VN format like its predecessors fuck
If you don't have the resources to create decent animation, then don't go down that path
>expected people to be hyped over game footage
>click on thread
>consolewars and bitching as far as the eye can see
Maybe I'll try the nighttime ZE thread
Maybe they'll actually be discussing more than graphics
>>338185573
Man, seeing this and then looking at the garbage visuals of ZE3 makes me sad.
999 looked fantastic.
>>338185878
>999 looked fantastic
Nostalgiafag detected.
>>338185878
there were too few sprites for the characters
you're just a nostalgiafag
>>338186085
Compared to ZE3 even my Paint drawings look fantastic desu
>>338185878
999 didn't even look that great, but the presentation worked well. Neither environments or sprites were that good, but they're on a screen for ants so it's not obvious.
I love the artsyle and I don't mind the jerky animations, since this has shitty budget, but those mouths are distracting.
They're too big and they open in weird ways. Diana looks likea robot.
>>338186085
I liked the style of 999. It wasn´t exactly amazing art or anything but it managed to always keep the tension high and the characters design was exotic enough to keep them interesting. But that may be because i just like the DS as a platform. So many good games on it.
Say what you will about the graphics, that Decision segment was intense as hell, even though we've known about that choice for a while.
>>338186916
>Choosing between best girl and best boy
Life is simply unfair.
Sigma is also completely correct in that decision segment. The only choice that has the possibility of both him and Phi surviving, is Diana shooting him.
>>338186998
Yeah i usually also have a hard time deciding between 12 inches and a C-cup.
Could Phi's "Why'd you shoot?" line from the first trailer be about Diana firing and killing Sigma? Since she's super against Diana pulling the trigger, and she sounds pretty torn up when she's saying it.
Do you guys think there will be a demo?
>>338187491
Maybe Sigma survives but Phi stays pissed off even though it was a blank?
>>338186916
>IT'S TIME TO DECIDE!
>10 seconds
And the game is full of these
I'm loving it
>>338187659
Ooh, I could see that too. I don't like them together romantically (and I'm glad Uchikoshi doesn't either), but I like that they're so close that Phi would rather die than even risk killing Sigma.
>>338187760
I´m totally gonna panic and not press anything in time, i can see it coming already.
>>338187881
Yeah they´re more like relatives than lovers anyway. I love their banter, it´s like brother and sister teasing each other.
>>338188084
According to the Famitsu scans, in some cases not choosing at all might yield its own outcome. The example they used was Q deciding whether or not to press a button.
>>338187881
I personally don't like them as a couple, but I would like if they became fuckbuddies. Phi being tsun tsun about wanting the dick again when Sigma hits on another female would be hilarious to me.
>>338185878
>999 looked fantastic.
>>338155527
>>338186916
>tfw gonna pull the trigger first run
I hope Phi doesn't get to mad
>>338188084
>>338188495
Can't wait for when the choice of "Kill six billion people" comes up
>>338187881
Well the lovers drama is going to be in the C team, with Junpei and Akane in there. I'm glad they didn't go the same route with Phi and Sigma. They're more like brother and sister.
>>338188495
>in some cases not choosing at all might yield its own outcome
I was wondering that myself too. Hope to see it happen involving multiple situations.
they had to strap sigmas arms down in the chair to keep him from crossing them all the time
>>338186686
The character artwork's really pretty great for 999 and VLR. The game graphics have never been able to do the concept artwork justice, but you still really get a feeling for each character's personality with the way their designs, clothing, and movements are laid out.
ZTD can't compare. It's apparent that the original art team isn't involved, which is a real shame.
>>338189057
Honestly I think that painted artwork of Phi makes her looks like an alien
Drawings make her the cutest tho
Snake is Zero. His monologue about people dying because of a snail is about his and Clover's parents.
>>338189463
I don't hate VLR's models, but goddamn, I wish they conveyed even half the details of this art.
>>338189463
Phi is cute.
CUTE!
>>338189476
The snake is Zero theory makes the most sense second to the Uchikoshi one!
>>338189476
I don´t remember us having even the slightest info about Snake´s and Clover´s parents. We don´t even know if one of them is adopted or not (since they don´t look alike).
>>338188797
I hope there's some cases like >>338172372 suggested, that there are hidden decisions that might occur when you interact with something less obvious.
Imagine if the timed decisionstrigger different events based on how fast you decide.Instantly pull the trigger as Diana, Phi never trusts her again
>>338189968
It might be pretty damn hard to get some endings then if thats the case. At least without a guide.
Why doesnt Diana just catch the bullet before it touches Sigma
>>338190193
But they won't remember what happened
>>338190193
Guys you might want to look up on the Monty hall problem, It was in the list of things Uchikoshi was using in this game!
>>338190379
Oh yeah.
I guessI keep forgetting that.
>>338190420Solving the Monty Hall Problemis one of the achievements
>>338190420
Oh i heard of that one before. It´s about probabilities, i think we covered it in school at some point.
>>338190420
There's going to be an antidote behind one of three doors or something isn't there? I hope they still put goats behind the other two.
>>338190743
Some guy in a gameshow gives you 3 doors to pic. One results in you Winning whatevers behind it.The other two are empty!
Once you pick a door the host then opens one of the two other remaining two door showing it is a empty behind it , a losing door. He then gives you the choice to stay with what you picked or to pick the other remaining door.
Its a mind fuck as sticking with the door you picked is a 1/3 chance still but swapping actually gives you a 2/3 chance.
The probabilities come from the 3 different scenarios(Timelines even) that stem from the guy knowing whats behind the door. Not the doors themselves.!
Its fucking awesome once you understand!
MY DICK IS LITERALLY DIAMONDS
SEEK A WAY OUT
I came.
>>338191172
I get it but I hope the characters argue like retards over it, it always happens when someone brings up the problem to people who haven't heard it before.
>>338191660
Yeah Uchi also explains the theories on the 4th dimension in pretty much all his games. It gets a little tiresome.
>>338177553
Plumbers Don't Wear Ties?
Team Q is going to be the biggest mess with these sorts of situations
Poor Q is going to get killed by Eric and/or Mira so many times over, none of them give a fuck about him
>>338191820
If Junpei is Zero, who is Junpei?
>>338192080
Yeah Q is in for a lot of pain. Poor Quark.
>>338192278
I think you mean Qlover.
>>338188495
The flow chart makes it look like the decisions won't be that detailed. There's only one with more than two possible outcomes, probably the one with Sigma and the gun, judging by its position.
Like with pushing the button or not pushing the button, letting time run out would probably be the same as just picking to not push the button.
Bump limit, should we get a new thread going?
>>338192261
It´s actually Junpei (involved in the planning and he´s shown to be concerned about Akane in some screens). We´re all forgetting that he can use the morphogenetic field as well, which means he might be trying to change the future as well.
>>338192261
Santa and do a complete reversal of people thinking Tenmiyouji was santa in VLR
>>338192790
Please do, anon
Junpei, Seven and Lotus formed an agency to investigate what was behind the Nonary Game Akane and Santa went through.
They were hired by Snake to look into Akane's plans after she kidnapped Clover for VLR.
Junpei was convinced by Snake that Akane is the one trying to end the world.
Snake is actually a member of FtS and is using Junpei against Akane as his revenge against her for taking his sister from him.
Screencap this.
