I feel guilty when I'm helping other players as phantom and someone invades. Most of the time we can kill invader easily in a couple of seconds but at the same time I don't want it to look like gank squad or let the host to be killed by invader. I rarely see invader using full game potential to fuck our shit up and it makes me sad.

I've been invading from the dragonpeak mausoleum bonfire, I've encountered very few people with phantoms which is nice. The ganks I have invaded though have been retarded. I go up the ladder to where you find the thunder stoneplate ring and almost always they follow you up and I knock them off with the weapon art of the Dragonslayer Spear.

For starters yeah, most invasions are against gank squads. Second of all it's just fun choosing the best hiding spot, the most appropriate gesture to use to blend in etc. Thirdly it's not just hiding. You go to the next group of enemies they have to head towards, pick a gesture, ambush them after they don't notice you and have started to fight the enemies you're hiding near. Rinse and repeat if it's a faglord who keeps running back to summon more phantoms.
Some people like the challenge of tearing apart a ganksquad on their own with a large arc-hitting weapon, I prefer smaller weapons and the art of hiding in plain sight.

I've been playing this game since release and no where in any souls game have I experienced the performance drop I experienced in Arch Dragon Peak.
I was getting 45-55 fps throughout the whole game and as soon I got there it dipped to 15-20.

If I'm summoned via sign it's my policy to never betray the host, unless they initiate combat with me
I was once summoned, fought off a red that invaded right after, then was summoned by him immediately after that to fight off an invader in HIS world. And then resummoned by him after that for regular co-op.
I like the tension of needing to trust each other over blithely co-oping as white and gold phantoms. Plus, if the host fucks up and dies, I still get a reward.

I've done that kind of stuff as an invader.
I feel like being an invader in the first place categorically invalidates this, but I'm not an asshole. If the host is alone I'll usually give them room to fight on even terms.
So, if the host makes me feel bad enough, I'll leave.
I did that once when I quickly found a host chameleon'd at the Pontiff start, who didn't react when I waved and used a hunter charm.
(In retrospect he could've went afk, but either way he didn't want to fight.)
And I did it another time when I invaded in the woods as a grape and only needed to kill one phantom.
I wanted to communicate to the host and his sunbro that I only wanted to fight the sunbro, so I kept waiting a bit outside that dilapidated tower waiting for a chance to show them, and since I never made an aggressive move, they just carried on with the level. I'm not used to being treated that nicely as an invader so I didn't even want an honorabu duel at that point, and definitely didn't want to ambush them, so I just left.

I had a fight club going once where a red and blue were fighting, and then suddenly a grape started ganking up with the red against the blue.
There was another red that initially wanted to kill me until the first blue showed up, and looking at the chaos, he decided to drop in and even the odds.
I wish I could've rewarded him with an ember or something, or showed that I appreciated that, but he died in the fight.

They added entirely new covenants for Bloodborne. I know that it's decently easy to get shackles anyway, but so many people distrust grapes purely because, if you two are successful in co-op AND never get invaded, the only way for the grape to get a reward is to kill the host.

I heard the auto-summon covenants are broken such that it's down to luck whether it works for you or not.
I have >100 proofs on my main because whenever I put the covenant badge on I get nonstop summons.
I made an alt account and it's the same.
But people have tested it out by going the same SL and weapon level as their friends, and their friends get summons and they'll get nothing for hours and hours.
Later I'm gonna test out if using cheat engine to give covenant items is safe.
Item swap scripts are completely safe, and though people said changing covenant items gets you banned, since they drop from enemies, I'm sure you can go offline and item swap a stack of them on the ground. It's no different than offline farming, but I still wanna test it out.

Nah man, you're not missing out on much. 80% of the time there's already another summon, and 80% of those times they kill the invader before I even get there. That's why I have so many proofs - nearly every attempt is successful.
If you're ever feeling nice, you can set up a dried fingers fight club with way of blue on. I did that once and a blue went 5 kills in a row, all of them being red eye invaders, meaning he got a concord for each kill.

Also, I get a lot of summons when I'm around SL20, 25, 0-2 weapon reinforcement.
At that level most of my summons are in the Undead Settlement.
People going through NG will have no other covenants to pick from and will slap on way of blue, and so many people summon phantoms since they get to the bonfire so soon after getting embered from Vordt.
Also the shittiest part is coming back to your own world right where you left off, but the enemies you were fighting have their health refilled. Lot of times when I've spawned in and then gotten pancaked by a black knight.
