It's the latest in the Trails/Kiseki series. It took a decent fantasy setting with a precedent for great characters and turned into wannabe Persona, generic high school trash. Combat is pretty good though.

Borderlands 2 somehow runs better than Jak and Daxter 1. But I've come to find out Jak and Daxter was made with a special engine they only used once.

Not bad considering the AI allies are godly and way better than online players. They can fucking carry you...
But eventually you run into a few solo missions and might get your arse kicked if you haven't learned how to git gud without those AIs.
Also it has crossplay with ps4 players... tho I think online is dead already... everyone waiting for Toukiden 2.

The only rare drops in the game are mitamas. Not even that hard when you can get mitama skills that increase drop rate. All other drops to craft equipment are pretty common.
This is nothing compared to getting rare plates in monster hunter back on the ps2...

Mitama is just one of those things, anon. There are rare trash monsters that you can only see with monster-vision that may or may not drop the thing you want.
I take it you haven't gotten to that point yet which is just as well. You should just stop before that.

I'm about 10 hours in to this thing and let me share my thoughts.
It's a barebones, run of the mill jrpg. Its only saving grace is the combat system, which doesn't even open up until about 5 hours in.
It reuses the same fucking music for every goddamn town and it allows absolutely 0 freedom in exploration.

I bet you gave up before you even had solo missions. You were probably carried by npcs and got bored before you even had to start solo missions.

The original game was created on zero budget for the DS. The remake at least redid the battle system completely and better graphics for towns and everything. It even added voice acting.
I guess music was the one thing they didn't upgrade due to no budget left.

Why doesn't anyone start these kinds of threads mentioning what genres they like and dislike at the very least? For example, there are tons of dungeon crawlers that can be suggested, but that would be a waste of time unless you like that genre. Without any hints as to what you like, you will pretty much just be quoted the system's entire library.

My first Vita finally died after falling out of bed for the 1,000 time so I had to buy the 2000. The screen is a little different but it's not like a huge drop in quality or anything. But I do like how it's so much lighter, like it hardly weighs anything compared to the oriignal.
