It's my favourite game for a lot of reasons, anon. It's very much worth it.
I played it in 2012, and for a game that was at the time 12 years old, it gave off a feeling of going on a massive adventure even though the map was really small. The characters, environment and story are all quite charming. The story is pretty light hearted, and the main characters help to keep spirits up a lot of the time.I love it because it truly feels like you're going on a grand adventure with some friends, going to far off lands and being the first to discover them. Everything about the game is so amazing that I still smile when I think about it.
You can emulate the DC version via NullDC if you've got a toaster of a computer, but will have to deal with a high enemy encounter rate, whereas the GC version of the game has improved upon the encounter rate but sadly the music isn't as good as the DC version. If your computer can handle it, play the Dolphin version. It's your choice though.

No problem. I honestly want everyone to play Skies of Arcadia. That game helped me make friends online and in real life, as well as helped me to truly refine my tastes in vidya.
It's a shame about the soundtrack when you play the GC version, but give it a listen when you get some time after you finish the game. The music is truly amazing.

Reiko Kodama still works at Sega, and while we haven't had any news on a HD port or anything, with Shenmue 3 actually fucking happening, who know if Sony's so called "List of game" has Skies of Arcadia on there. I bet she'd be glad to make a sequel/port of the original to current gen consoles/pc.
A bit off topic there, but I just want to discuss Skies some more. Hope you have fun. Just remember not to run from fights, there's a swashbuckler ranking that's really hard to rank up, and if it's not at the max by end game you might miss a good late game weapon.

There is no such thing as a perfect game. But Suikoden II, Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest VIII have come the closest when it comes to RPGs.

I've already seen a small amount of gameplay of FF9 and it made me smile from the silly things I saw, such as how I believe the main character tries to kidnap the princess, and she just says she wants to go on an adventure with him. The DC's version encounter rate was utterly ridiculous. I'm talking a dungeon that should have taken maybe 30-45 minutes to clear could take 2-3 hours if you fought every encounter.

Yeah FFIX has many funny and silly moments throught the game but dont let the art style and the chraracters appearance fool you, the game has a relatively dark story and very strong atmopshere which I find amazing, the game does have light hearted parts, many of them actually (such as the one you mentioned) but it also has some more serious parts.
All in all the game is a great adventure and the OST is god tier, Nobuo is a genius really.
This has been my favorite FF and it was the first one I played, after playing the other FF games you will notice many references that FFIX has to the older games of the series (the game is kind of a love letter in some ways).
I recommend playing FFIX first desu, but if you want a good introduction you can play IV (simple one) VI or VII.
Just take a pick but definitely play IX.

Heads up, I'm extremely biased but the game is really good from an artistic prespective, you might not find the gameplay something to throw your hat off at but the characters, world, story, OST, everything weaves together so well and Its hard not to like it, but I've also found that people who love this game as hard as me played the game in their childhood/teenager years for the first time so yeah take that as you will.
FFIX is a good starting point nonetheless.

Its not really that, though some games can do that, you're right. Its more that the Indiana Jones series kind of went downhill after the first movie. And of course flew right of a cliff with Crystal Skull.
The sad thing is, before Crystal Skull came out, rumors were circulating that upwards of a dozen different scripts were made for a potential Indiana Jokes 4. And one of them was based on that game. But Lucas rejected them all, saying he would write the script himself.
Which of course he didn't do until 15 fucking years later. Because Star Wars prequels were more important.

I used to think that. But as I grew up, I noticed that Last Crusade is when Speilburg started to go full ET mode. Shakey camera, tons of close ups and too many quick cuts. What made Crusade so good was seeing Sean Connery playing the ooposite of James Bond. And falling instantly into a comedy routine with Harrison Ford. All the more reason there should have been more Indy movies right after, to fully capitalize on Henry Jones.
Anyway, to me Raiders felt more like the classic movies it was inspired by. Wide angle shots, the characters do the fighting rather than the camera, cleaner editing, etc. But its all up to opinions.

If you watch commentaries, basically Lucas and Speilburg were sitting in a room coming up with ideas for what to do. And Speilburg just said 'let's have a scene where all of Indy's past lovers come back and slap him around'. And someone Lucas turned that into Shia LeBouf and Marion.

Everything is meticulously designed and directed in a way that naturally pushes the player along but allows for full freedom and control. It puts you in full control of some of the greatest action moments in gaming set to a brisk pace and clear atteention to detail and thought put into the delivery and execution of the plots from the way exposition is naturally presented, clear meaningful motivations, tonally consistent blend of humor, drama, and action, grounded acting and dialogue, substantial growth of characters. And to tie back to the gameplay, the beauty of the Uncharted series is its accessibility, diversity,and refinement of control from how snappy and responsive the cover is, how beautiful the animations are, all the different forms of attack at your disposal to mix up the gameplay next to the naturally evolving complexity of level design (seriously, later levels in Uncharted are INSANE in how expansive and vertical they are while blending in with the environments and having contextual reasons for layout and being entirely diverse and interesting like the entire boat level).

I was a massive weeaboo before 4chan was ever a thing, I bought up all things Japanese and was very bias toward their games.
I tried to like godhand, I really did but the combat wasn't satisfying enough to carry the entire game.
Combo list got annoying too.
Godhand reminds me of The Bouncer because both had a lot of potential but were lost somewhere in translation from storyboard to final execution.

This is my favourite game ever but it's pretty overrated. The difficult scaling is a mess, with random stretches of the game being trivially easy and other stretches being a bitch to beat if you don't know what you're doing.
And when you DO know what you're using it's pretty easy to accidentally break the game and destroy any difficulty in it because you overdid your set up. Not mentioning Thunder God Cid.
Balance is really skewered with some high end classes being nearly useless, and some easy unlocks being way too powerful before considering the special classes. It suffers from the common issue of party members losing all character after you get them too. There's a lot of cool dialogue and the plot is interesting enough when you read into it but the going-ons are actually very shallow and it's baby's first political fantasy.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw this. Its really stupid you have to do a bunch of grinding at the start since you're trying to fight fucking level 4 Knights and Black Mages in the third and fourth story battle, before you even have access to a fucking Bow, let alone a decent sword. But then having done all that grinding, everything else afterwards becomes too easy.
Either they never play tested the game or they thought it had to be overly hard to encourage people to level. Either way, its bad.

I really don't know how you were suppose to do the third and fourth story quest without grinding. You have Delita, Ramza and two of your own characters.
In the third fight, you're fighting a level 3 knight who keeps attacking you at range with Dark Blade (whatever its called) and doing 50 damage to your guys (which will kill a Squire in one hit). As well as two monks, a white mage as his support. How are you suppose to even get close to the Knight when he's dropping one of your units per turn? Especially when you can't control stupid Delita and he keeps running head first into his Dark Blade attack. The only way I could do it to use Delita as bait. Then rush him with Monks and a Black Mage.
Then in the fourth fight, Delita turns on you. And you're left with Ramza and three of your own units against two black mages, a level 4 knight, a level 2 knight and a white mage. Its a little easier than the stupid fight with the Dark Blade, but still not exactly doable with Squires from what I can see.
