My biggest issue with this comic is that I have no idea who this authority figure, the "Gamer Momma", that they're calling upon is supposed to be. Is it a self-insert of the artist themselves? Is it the actual 1983 Joust World Champion? Is it just some fictionalized character foil meant to exaggerate the anti-girl gamer straw man?
If is the last one, what is the point of this comic? Nothing here happened. If they are supposed to be highlighting discrimination that actually happens to women during conventions, what in god's name does the "Gammer Momma" add to this comic? Who is she? Am I supposed to relate to her? Agree with her? She isn't making any points or arguments. She's just boasting about how good she was or is at video games.
I understand NOTHING about what this comic is trying to say.
