Xbox One exclusivity, which is now fixed. DR3 isn't amazing but neither are the other two. The Dead Rising series is the B movie of video games. If you like it you're really into it but otherwise it looks really unpolished and plays like a nonstop timed escort mission.
DR2:OTR is still the best the series has to offer.

Like these guys said it, the first one is a masterpiece and is one of the best games ever made.
Capcom Japan should have kept it instead of outsourcing it to Canada
The sequels are all trash by comparison and got worse every release after.
The problem is they made a fun as hell sandbox game and, rather then let the player choose when to do the shitty plot missions, actively forced a time limit down their throats.
This is why OTR is still the best game, no shitty plot to get in the way unless you want it to.

Far from perfect.
3 would've been better if there was more of a reason to go indoors, if you couldn't craft whatever you want whenever you want, if there were more shortcuts, and if the cars didn't feel like shit to drive.
