>1080 is faster than 2 GX 980 in SLI
Will NVIDIA's lies ever end?
implying anyone will upgrade from 980 sli to 1080
its better than my 960
>>338025197
it runs at 83 degrees celsius full load.
anyone who buys this is a retard.
>>338025620
So, the same as every other nVidia flagship card then? Good thing it delivers a better performance per watt
It actually is in some games, like Crysis 3.

A bit late for the Fermi jokes.
>>338025197
>synthetic benchmarks
I wasn't able to find any tests of 1080 vs 980 SLI, but the difference between 1080 and 980 is about 70% in most games. Given that SLI performance boost rarely exceeds 50%, the nVidia statement is not false.

Do you know that GPU manufacturers adjust cooler speed to match the target temperature deemed safe for normal GPU operation? You can keep the temp much lower at a cost of increased noise. If you really want that, go make a custom RPM/temp chart in MSI Afterburner, shouldn't take more than 5 min
I'm waiting to see how polaris does. Upgraded to a 1440p screen and a meme 970 is just not cutting it, but i'm not sure whether i'll be going to a 1070 or polaris just yet.
>buying nvidia cards that aren't made by other manufacturers
enjoy your trash coolers
>>338026341
Rumours are that it's basically 390 tier for 300 dollaridoos. I'm not expecting much from Polaris to be honest, I'm waiting for Vega.
If that's going to not deliver, I'll just buy the best AMD GPU available at the time.
>>338026349
I'm not sure why would any sane person pay extra $100 for an inferior cooler. Unless the rumors about chip shortage are true and we aren't going to see any 3rd party cards in months.
>tfw ASUS GTX680 with a 3 slot cooler
The thing is so quiet while running stable at +200/+900 clocks for years
>>338026448
Looks like they are doing some sort of reveal today in a few hours:

If the top end gpu a cheaper gtx 1070 i'll get that.
Does anyone have that chart with a comparison against older cards like 780 and 680? It was posted in one of the threads last night
>>338025197
Will the shitposting ever end? Answer yourself.
>>338026578
I'm not sure if that'll be anything noteworthy. It seems to not be targeted towards the public. I'm hoping for good things, but I'm afraid the best they'll release this year is still not tiered high enough for me. I want Vega.

So uhm, in retard words what does this statement means ?
And concretly what is nvidia lying about and does it matter ?
>>338030323
Nigga, GTX 1080 is a superclocked maxwell with shitter performance per clock.
>>338030462
>nvidia is finally trying to fight the AMD console powerhouse
good on them
>>338030605
The claim from nvidia was the that a stock 1080 could beat a stock 980 in sli. Posting benchmarks were it's put against an oc 980 setup is irrelevant when trying to disprove that claim.
Fact is real world performance in games shows that nvida's claim is mostly true when compering stock to stock.
Does the gtx1070 have 8gb of ram or less?
>>338031136
8gb but it's slower gddr5 instead of the gddr5x in the 1080.
>>338030462
It's a jab at the PS4 fans freaking out about it's 8GB GDDR5 before release
>>338025620

Oh no!

>I'm not sure why would any sane person pay extra $100 for an inferior cooler.
Because it came out first. It was literally a "I want it first" mark up.
>>338025197
people on earth willingly buy nvishits GC instead of amd.
blows my mind desu senpai.
>>338031656
Doesn't blow my mind at all, they can play every game just fine instead of whining about gameworks or some conspiracy dragging down their performance in every game that isn't Hitman.
Get relevant or keep dying, AMD.
><15% market share
>>338031718
but... look at the raw numbers... amd is way better.
>>338031718
As long as there are so many idiots who are happy to pay more for less, Nvidia will always win since they'll always be more expensive.
