I was thinking about buy Overwatch but Blizzard hasn't released their pre-order numbers. They would have done so already if sales were good, so it leads me to believe Overwatch won't do so well. Combined with Blizzard's anti-consumer past and dubious level of content updates in the future, I went the safe route and bought Battleborn instead. It's so much fun so far and I could play it immediately instead of waiting another week for Overwatch.

Well, I played for roughly 14 hours during the beta, mostly D.Va and Mercy, as well as some Zenyatta and Zarya.
I expected the same heroes to get stale, but when I started learning them it actually got more interesting. With 17 other heroes I barely touched I can probably expect 60+ hours at least, not counting group-play with friends or updates later on. For 40€ that seems acceptable.
You'd pay more for Doom 4 with an eight hour campaign max and no replayability.

but popular. Hots is shallow and shit, but still 'exists' and gets worked on. Blizzard have a reputation for long term with their games, that REALLY helps on the fence people who feel overwatch is missing things.

and I played roughly the same amount of time and felt the exact opposite. i felt these characters aren't as complex as people want to 'act' like they are and the lack of gameplay variety mode wise and a lot of extremely questionable design decisions (play of the game) just breed and even saltier disposition than tf2 pubs and the average hearthstone player.
The game is probably the most polished and simultaneously most souless thing I have experienced, and i've suffered through launch diablo 3.
