It's more powerful than the Wii U so it'll get exclusive games eventually, meaning it basically is a sucessor. But that will be the initial gimmick. They'll play it off kind of like the new 3DS

All NX needs to be is a moderately powerful portable. They can then port over Wii U games, be an alternative platform for smaller Japanese studios, and attract even more indie developers with a more powerful system.
