I hope it starts a new string of Metroidvanias with IGA's style. Each Metroidvania has a subtly different focus or group of focuses. Some focus far more on platforming (Ori), some on melee combat (Strider 2014), some on somewhat complex rpg and equipment systems (Unepic), some on mazelike levels (La Mulana), but IGA's I find tend to mix most possible themes together together and do a little bit of each, which tends to be what I like most.

Obviously I hope that it is good. Fluid movement, some challenging area/mob combinations, secrets to find, an aggregate visual design that meshes well, boss fights I don't just plow through the first time, fitting music, etc.
My expectation is that it's too soon to have expectations.
So far it looks like it's coming along pretty well. We'll just have to see how everything integrates.
