I've been in Kansas City multiple times. It is a nice place, but it wouldn't be right for a GTA game.
Obviously people want their hometown to be the setting but you have to be realistic.
I would like to see a GTA that focuses on SF/Oakland and the surrounding counties but I'm not holding my breath, given that the last GTA was also in California. At least my city is recognizable to people in other states though.
